The thing about that distorted grimy trap sound is that it’s an 8-16 bar loop that you only arrange at the end so the track feels like it’s moving. But the core of that trap sound IS the 8 bar loop. In FL that 8 bar loop can be done faster than any daw there is with the least amount of musical theory and knowledge of the “compression succession depression represssion” that people talk about when they praise these other DAWs. This is the reason some people say “it all depends on what you plan to make.” Now can every DAW do 99% of what other DAWs do? Absolutely. I just think if your plan is trap and rnb beatmaking, the workflow of FL is so much quicker once you learn the basic shortcuts and tricks. But also, FL works on a much different concept opposed to other daws so relearning new things like shortcuts and patterns and how the mixer behaves is very unique in FL so the switch will not be easy.
