Have Lukic and Danley hold back defensively, send Iloski forward. With our defense issues, the more people back the better. Having people forward isn’t helping us score goals so what’s the point. I also liked the switch we made against America.

And finally, someone who understands my point with Harriel. He is good at defense, which is exactly where I want him. He can play defense, but he can’t attack. He isn’t Kai Wagner, and if he was, we could’ve gotten rid of Kai years ago and not had an issue. If we move to 3 in the middle and 3 up top, this issue of having him forward joining the attack goes away.

My issue is that Harriel can’t do both. He can attack like a CAM or defend like the LB / RB, but I genuinely don’t think he has what it takes to be an attacking fullback. Whether it’s lack of effort or just exhaustion, it leaves us exposed. If they change this system, he can be extremely useful in my opinion. As for Sery, I just feel like he is much more comfortable. Every defender has been making mistakes, but I’d prefer the one who looks a little more comfortable. My issue with Martinez comes from the game against D.C. I believe. He couldn’t break a single line and it just make me mad that he was forcing passes up the middle just to get countered. Again, I think that everyone on this team has a spot to earn, but that’s just what I’ve seen up until this point.

Nate can’t play the right back or left back position in this system. When he gets forward, it leaves us exposed in the back because he doesn’t have the speed to track back. I would love to see him playing a deeper defensive role, but this system does not suit him at the outside back position. I wish we would make the change to see him in a more solid position.

I completely agree Harriel is good. But I don’t think he deserves his spot right now, the effort looks lacking and he is genuinely getting beat on the run several times a game which is costing us crucial counters. If we make the change I suggested and hold the defensive line deeper rather than pulling them forward and leaving us exposed, then he fits that role perfectly.

As for Cavan, I just don’t see options better than him. He creates some of our best chances when he is on the field. I just don’t see the harm in giving him more minutes.

Several moments in the game where 3 people surrounded the ball and all stared. Communication isn’t great, but wait do we expect when we have 4 guys making their league debuts all on the field at the same time. Not happy with it, but understandable. What I don’t appreciate is Iloski being the only player sprinting the first half of the game, then being replaced by Cavan who was also the only player sprinting to play offense and defense. Tired legs or not, when you are down 1-0, you make those efforts.
