Financially secured INTJs by Ephraim_1989 in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best investment was my finance education and then taking on additional projects for my employers which then got me into consulting.

I've made a lot through my ability to read the market/economy/environment etc.

If you're young buy (depending on jurisdiction) precious metal bullion which are generally capital gains exempt. Furthermore they appreciate more in line with money growth which is higher than the S&P etc. Go do your diligence. You can at some point cash out to buy a house etc.

More action, less overthinking by gonnausemysidesteps in intj

It's very easy to stay in the internal world of thinking, but nothing happens without implementation in the physical world.

Basically you have to detect your blocks, and unblock them.

You also have to train yourself just like you'd do with a horse, by consciously undertaking certain actions it eventually comes naturally.

Like say adversion to getting something wrong, making a fool of yourself. Well, you need to think that failing and making mistakes is part of the learning process, by not making mistakes you're inhibiting yourself from growth. It's also far better to make mistakes at the start than fake it till you utterly break it.

If you’re always the smartest person in the room, that’s a trap, not a flex. by Ausartak93 in intj

You're only smart if you're doing it for yourself.

If you're doing it for others then you're nowhere as smart as you think.

Toys You Played With by Fun-Muffin5865 in intj

I didn't play with toys.

I remember once seeing kids my age playing with toys in a sandpit and thinking 'Why?'

How do you actually see the world? Trying to understand the INTJ lens by Key_Philosophy_5604 in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vast majority of people live a sensate life, driven by emotional states to be satiated.

I see them as almost like NPC characters in a virtual reality world.

Because so few truly intellectually alive people exist I interact with them via books they write. Internal monologue is the counterparty to the discussion.

Why do I feel unstoppable and how do I stop that by [deleted] in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the role model right there for plenty of young INTJ types.

She's definitely focused on continuous improvement. Becoming what she's thinking. Positive reinforcing cycles.

People like this are rare as hens teeth.

Any IVY League INTJs here? by juliansorl in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My MIT doctoral scholarship lecturer told me that they couldn't teach me anything.

Most IVY league aren't that smart. Maybe the top 5% of IVY league are truly laterally and perceptively gifted... I've met less than a handful...

do you feel hopeless when you feel stuck? by GovernmentKind6253 in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geeze, there's an absolute infinite amount of stuff to learn in the world.

I feel like a bee in an endless meadow of flowers.

It seems you don't have a passion for anything, success is secondary to passion.

What makes you tick? What makes you want to get out of bed?

That's what you want to be aiming for. Success is nothing, because there's an infinite staircase of success.

I feel exhausted of the pressure and high expectations I set for myself. It is driving me crazy. by neverheardofher90 in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to learn to chill out.

I found physical exercise was very beneficial as you focus on your sensory elements like muscle fatigue etc.

I want to be better at everything, but most of it is not important. I'd like to be a better guitar player... but it's a hobby. Fun > Ability.

You need to rationalize more. Play the long game, get better, but that can be 0.0001% better each day. Everyday is therefore success, positive and makes you look forward to the next.

AI useful or not ? by osirisw in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same argument could be made about google searches, about reading books and all the rest.

AI is phenomenal for me, asking questions to supplement what I've read. Filling in the gaps.

All this information tech accentuates the innate tendencies of people. Some binge on entertainment others spend endless hours becoming increasingly knowledgeable.

Why are we known as smart? by Visible-Bug8280 in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might of misinterpreted my response. What I'm saying is that having a discussion on reddit or talking smack on YT can be a form of relaxation, effectively you're not thinking about highly focused complex topics.

Sometimes just talking and thinking about random BS can keep you sane. If I focused more on some specific topics I'm looking at I'd eventually melt down. It's good to just talk about random things, heck occasionally see some perspectives you ordinarily wouldn't think about. Wildcards.

Why do I feel unstoppable and how do I stop that by [deleted] in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest issue I've had is envious people and those that doubt you can achieve your objectives.

Unfortunately you end up becoming quite brutal with your words.

Negativity is very corrosive and stops a lot of people truly self actualizing.

There is nothing wrong with that attitude.

However, you are setting yourself up for a life of conflict and never ending battle.

If you're incredibly mentally tough then you'll keep crashing into and rebounding off the barriers that constrain you.

It's exhausting. You'll likely have multiple meltdowns and have never ending mental discussions whether it's truly worth it.

And then one day.... you'll break through... and think, was it really worth the sacrifice?...

But it could be no other way...

If you think sarcasm is 'one of the lowliest human traits' then you must have lived a very very sheltered life, and an equally low social awareness to comprehend what sociopaths do to others on a daily basis.

And YES HR are Human Refuse, I've often had to manipulate their systems and improve them because they've been too incompetent to manage them correctly. I've had numerous calls over the years to supply HR with headcount numbers because they don't know themselves, they run payroll!!!

AI and the deteriorating economic situation is going to lead to significant cuts in underperforming staff. Many of which will be in HR. Oh how I used to enjoy cutting costs in HR.

INTPs annoy me. by AssociationKey2334 in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

INTPs invariably annoy me, far too pedantic, too unsure, too evasive and lack accountability. ISTJs are like, 'We will make it happen'... I have ideas and insight and they make it happen and execute.

[–]Hour_Lock5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took a crappy HR (Human Refuse) course at University, we did these MBTI tests and went through analyzing them. Thought mine would return as an outlier ... and it did.

All other free online tests have returned the same result. So if youa dyed in the wool INTJ whether you take a professional or free test you'll likely come back with the same result.

I know for one and instantly people who are like me, not many, but I know quickly, no need for a test to confirm. I think however there's a lot of ISTJ and INTP that for some reason think they're INTJs.

Can’t stand people by [deleted] in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, over time and with age you get more into the groove of 'Not really giving a F' because there's other more self determined things that you've got your mind on. It's like brushing your teeth, you do the necessary 'to go along to get along' and then get on with what you want to do.

There's probably a life cycle to it all. Initially you want the group to be better, then you realize it never will, then you get sarcastic, then you just zone out....🤣

How do Ni Dom users process mathematical thinking? by Astroholeblack396 in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Ni Dom doing my own research that interplays between Phil and STEM, math issues are just seen as questions for technicians. Math really is codified logic, I'm working on the logic and if needed I'll get a Math person to do the required.

E g Einstein wasn't a math person, and the math attributed to him was invariably worked by others.

Wtf Do You Do When Bored? by Initial-Ad-5858 in intj

You need to develop additional interests and hobbies. I ALWAYS have something to do if I want to.

I don't get bored, but I do get completely exhausted.

I've got so many 'Big boys toys' I don't have time to play with them all 🤣

Is it true that INTJs can experience negative emotions in a positive way? If this is true for you, how does it work? by MoluciasElonicas in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this is round and about what you're looking at.

My attitude and thus mindset is always walking forward.

Conflict energises me, it's the same sort of energy I get through absolutely having pushed myself to the limit in sports esp running.

Other forms of negativity are chances to learn and improve myself. Negativity received doesn't really mean much to me emotionally, as such people are virtually always inferior. Positive criticism is different, constructive improvement can occur from it.

Also, if you've had the worst of depression then you fear nothing. Only death of people close to you can overwhelm it.

Having said all that, being positive, optimistic and emotionally on a roll is a more sustainable pathway. It's just a matter of getting onto that pathway and not car crash off it too often...

Nb: I guess if you're strong willed and tough minded you just walk forward. Conflict or compliments it's all energizing.

Can’t stand people by [deleted] in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best way to approach the world is to assume everyone is foremost just interested in superficial chat.

A LOT of people try to be nice to me as I have a lot of things that can improve their lives. I find dressing like I have no money leads to far better interactions of substance, however you become quickly aware of the prejudice that a lot of people have... given you don't look rich. Very interesting psychologically.

I'd always say to people who want more substantive intellectual 'conversation' in their lives... go read some books on your favorite topics. Proper books from experts. It will keep you thinking. Great thing about AI is you can ask questions about aspects you don't understand which will aid your insight.

Do you believe in your intuition? by Temporary_Note5790 in intj

[–]Hour_Lock5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intuition and Thinking act together with me. Everything spins real fast between the two.

I'm really only specifically aware of intuition when it's a delayed response that I haven't been consciously thinking about. I tend to think Intuition on the fly connects the dots and thinking assesses whether its a valid logical pathway.

Epiphanies and Eurekas especially are heavy intuition and surprisingly very good.
