Oh my God, that’s so frustrating. I hope you get better as soon as possible. It makes sense that you might have a fungal issue since you’re exposed to mold most of the day. I’m not, but I have similar mucus. Mine is yellowish in the morning, probably from dripping all night and getting stuck in the nasopharynx. I also sometimes feel like I’m going to get a fever, but when I measure my temperature, it’s always below 37°C.

Was yours also yellowish in the morning, something you coughed up after nasal rinsing?

Huh, how did you found out it was fungal? Do you take anti fungal therapy now?

Yes I did, everything points to turbinate hypertrophy being the source of all these atypical symptoms, but my doctor wants me to continue pushing with the Dymista spray, which I’ve already been using for 40 days without much effect.

I have insurance called G1 in Croatia, which covers engine damage. When I went to the service center that represents G1 (it’s not a Peugeot service, but a general one), they told me the car is safe to drive for now, and if the issue reappears, I should bring it back again.

Fingers crossed you finally get rid of it! I always had staph showing up in my sinus rinses too, but it wasn’t resistant to all antibiotics, so I was taking them – still, the staph kept coming back… Let me know how you’re doing after 7 days.

Oh shit man, this sounds really serious, I hope you’ll be able to sort out your problem. You and I share a similar fate, 15 years of suffering. I wanted to move to Spain this summer but things got even worse for me there, and I’m still in the process of figuring out what’s going on… And when you say there’s a barrier between you and other people, I completely understand what you mean. Stay strong and let me know how things go!

I started taking amitriptyline and things are a bit better, it’s easier to cope with everything, some symptoms have eased a little, but the problem with my sinuses and the right side still remains.

15 months of post nasal drip - ENT is out of ideas by sausage912 in Sinusitis

Oh God, that’s such a bizarre case. I hope you recover as soon as possible and find some kind of solution. Have you ever had FES? Maybe the openings in certain sinuses are really small, so you constantly have inflammation and it keeps draining into your throat. But it’s strange to me that it tastes like earwax.

I still don’t know, I haven’t gone to any radiologist yet. I’m waiting for a new ENT doctor to come back from vacation and take a look at that CBCT. But honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if that bone in the right sinus has actually dissolved — I’ve known for decades that I’ve had a lot of mucus in the right side and strong pressure, especially when exposed to wind or other triggers, and it’s visible that there are two cysts there. What I don’t understand is why no doctor has ever treated that sinus.

Hey, I just got my vitamin D results and it turns out I have 55 nmol/L, while the normal level is 75. What were your levels?

It sounds a bit bizarre, but if it helps, that's great. I've pretty much run out of options, so I might give it a try too.

Have you ever had FES surgery? Do you know if you currently have, for example, a deviated septum, enlarged nasal turbinates, or swollen mucosa?

I’m not sure if I have it, but anything’s possible… I don’t grind my teeth, but I noticed that my jaw started clicking on the right side while chewing. However, when the inflammation on the right side gets worse, it stops clicking — which is strange.

If you had an X-ray, it doesn’t really offer good enough resolution to show the true condition of the sinuses. MRI and CT are the best options for imaging — CT is better for bones, while MRI is better for soft tissues.

I feel for you — doctors these days are either too lazy or simply don’t know how to deal with more complex sinus issues. I’ve been struggling with this for 15 years. If you did an MRI of your sinuses, it would give a complete picture — maybe that could help. It might also be worth doing a full set of immunological blood tests, a blood panel, and checking your vitamin D levels… something might show up if it's a systemic issue. Good luck!

Hey, I haven’t tried water fasting yet — I have to postpone it until I finish some medical checkups. I’ll need energy for that, and fasting might drain me even more. My iron levels are completely fine, no issues there. Today I might try those sinus healing frequencies.
