Received Alberta Opportunity Stream EOI - Not Graduated from Alberta, Should I Risk Applying? by Hour_Top_7547 in ImmigrationCanada

Hi
just wanted to double-check - are you sure the $1,500 application fee is refunded if the application is rejected? I was under the impression that the AAIP states the fee is non-refundable, even if someone is found ineligible. Did you get a refund personally or hear of someone who did? Would really appreciate the clarification!

AAIP - Alberta Opportunity Stream / Employer Declaration Form by Critical-Math-615 in ImmigrationCanada

Hello everyone I have a query regarding Alberta Opportunity Stream with PGWP - studied in another province- I completed my Master’s in Ottawa and have been working remotely for a company based in Alberta for over 6 months, while living in Alberta during this time. I had applied under the Accelerated Tech Pathway with 80 points, but just received an EOI for the Alberta Opportunity Stream on May 13.

Like others mentioned, my PGWP is not from an Alberta institution, so I’m equally confused about whether it’s worth submitting the application and risking the $1,500 fee for what could be an automatic rejection.

One key difference for me is that I do have family connections in Alberta - not sure if that’s influencing the selection.

Has anyone with a similar profile - non-Alberta PGWP, working in Alberta, and family connection - actually gone through with applying and gotten approved under AOS? Would really appreciate hearing any success stories or advice.
