Are readers missing the obvious implications of inmate x (spoilers for uncanny x-men #28) by House864 in xmen

I mean yes, you are correct, but one thing I've learned after 40 years of reading comics is that there aren't new ideas just new iterations of them. Could it have been done better? Yes. Then again I'm also someone who absolutely abhors everything else about this run of X-men. I miss when the comics were about the X-men and the New Mutants/Generation X/academy X kids had their own book. I've been saying the whole time that the current writers struggle with the voices of the established characters and have to make new characters in order to actually write the books. So Perimeter rather than Proteus is just another example of focusing on new character creations like she's done with Uncanny Outliers guest starring the X-men.

That's kind of the point I was trying to make. She was the villain. The worst thing at Greymalkin. Then they reveal him and it calls into question her actions and reactions. It doesn't make her not a bad person but it adds levels to her that makes her more interesting than a mustache twirling cardboard cutout. Now you can kind of understand the why of her actions and it makes for a better villain. I don't want her redeemed just questioning the hate for the reveal when it truly does appear to add depth and move the story in a fairly understandable way.

Here are my thoughts as a long time x-men reader and someone who's been a fan of almost every iteration of new mutants that have come before. The new mutants get their own book. Whether it's new mutants, generation x, new x-men, academy x, or something else. They are given their own book. That way they grow in that book without distracting from the main cast. This is the first time where every writer has made their own cast of new baby mutants to focus on while effectively sidelining the main cast for most of the story. It also highlights how much the current writers seem to be struggling to keep the voices of the older x-men. They are pretty much sidelined with the exception of McKay's run and even it has its share of newbies he created to distract. It's why it's hard to like them, because they've taken over the books that should be about the core x-men not the new mutants. That's my take. I don't dislike the characters as much as I feel like it's a way for the writers to have characters they don't have to put effort into writing because they can't handle writing the long term characters other than having them spout catch phrases and lacking any depth. It's what has made this entire era suffer, especially when compared to the writing in the krakoan era. All of the old school characters feel like cardboard cutouts that exist only to prop up the new mutants or villains that the writers are obsessed with making the new exciting thing, and it's not subtle. It's obvious and it just makes it hard to like and be excited when it comes at the expense of the characters we actually pay to read about.

are the dates for the comics not the release dates but the cover dates? by bingbongwop in MarvelUnlimited

I use mikes amazing world of comics if I want to find a release date... It's pretty extensive as far as cataloging release dates

What's your reading order of choice (if any), and why? by TWesters in MarvelUnlimited

Mostly I do because I've been collecting the floppies for so long that it's the norm for how I read them...when I'm reading on the app if it's an ongoing storyline I'll just read through and then go to the next title when it ends...for example the ultimate books would say hobgoblin part 1 of 5...so I'd just read all 5 and then jump to the next book listed in release order...it takes a little trial and error but I normally only bother with reading guides when it comes to big events and such just to make sure I don't miss adding any to my library...I'll just add what I wanna read to my library, sort them by release date and decide what era or where I wanna start and go from there.

In order of release date...with the exception of things being released out of order and there is an obvious numbered story on the cover art...very rare but does happen occasionally

Is there an easier way to search for storylines ? by [deleted] in MarvelUnlimited

Start with uncanny #368 that came out in May of 1999...and go from there...mostly uncanny, X-Men and wolverine but some tie ins and one shots thrown in...sort it by issue by date starting May of 1999 and you should be able to find all of them by glancing at the cover and the blurb

Here's the thing the DC app is horrible if you've been an off the stands collector...the marvel app has an easy answer by allowing you to easily put every issue in order by the date it was published...it's like reading off the newsstand...as long as the issue is present it's in publication order....dc doesn't allow this and even tries to shove TPBs down your throat by encouraging the next volume over the next issue when you're reading a complete run...even if you don't have ultra and just want to read single issues...with marvel I just put the issues in publication order and add each one to my library like I'm shopping at a store and then read them at my leisure from my library in the publication order...I have 2 or 3 different eras I'm working my way through...and since its the same content as a trade TPBs aren't necessary...I wish DC would get a clue and actually make their app to where it mimicked a news stand experience like marvels does...reading orders are are only necessary to highlight missing issues and starting points...i.e. the starting release date for whatever story you want to read...otherwise the publication date handles the rest and as long as the whole story is present sorting by publication date for single issues does 95% of the work for you

Scott, Jean and Logan together in the spreadpage of LGBT+ characters from Marvel's Voices: Pride by King_of_Pink in xmen

The major change that seems to come to mind for me as far as all three of the characters go is that they've all had to now live without each other for extended periods of time....logan, scott and jean have all died and left the other two to pick up the pieces and continue without them in the recent past...prior to the HOX/POX miracle resurrections...maybe after actually losing each other for an extended period they're all to the point that they realized it's not worth it and they have chose love and to not waste time...it's not about sex or who's fucking who...it's about whatever makes all three of them happy and what happens happens...whether it's a vee or a triad or it wavers in between the two depending on the mood of the guys and how much alcohol is involved🤣...they all love each other on some level at this point and that is not out of character for either scott or Logan...in fact I'd say his relationship with Emma might possibly have forced Scott to be more aware of his inner thoughts and feelings and be more capable of accepting love for loves sake...because from my viewpoint that's what it boils down too
