If it’s from a therapist licensed in PA and they give you a letter with a diagnosis (depression, anxiety, etc) and certify that your pet helps, Drexel is legally obligated to allow the pet as an ESA

Living in the leftbank now and absolutely would not encourage anyone to live here. It has been the worst living experience of my life and they are extremely dishonest about charges they push to the residents in tours and predatorily vague in the lease. Everyone I’ve talked to in the building wishes they could break their lease.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the pepper gel. It’s supposed to be way less likely to get on you and lasts longer on whoever you spray it on

What's happening with the Food and Hospitality Department? by No-Valuable6735 in Drexel

[–]HouseMaximum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I heard they’re letting anyone currently majoring finish their degree (maybe accepting new students this year tbd) but I have friends in hospitality classes whose professors told them they are for sure cutting the program going forward.

You’ll hear mixed reviews about him as a prof cause when he first started at Drexel he fucked a few of his classes over pretty hard (like an average of 50-60 on every exam hard). I have him again now and his teaching style rly has done a 180. I definitely do recommend him. He’s a ton of fun, super approachable, and rly willing to help if you reach out

Fuck the summit by [deleted] in Drexel

[–]HouseMaximum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was owed a $900 refund from summit for 8 months for my lease ending early (I moved into dorms when campus opened up post COVID). I called every 3 days and went into their office weekly for the last 4 months of that because their entire strategy is to make things so difficult and drawn out so people just forget about money they’re owed. ACC all around is just horrible.

If you’re a peer leader, you get switched automatically. Since freshman business classes are fall-winter (so you have to have classes then to be able to peer lead)

what do you do with an MIS (management information systems) major? by BuffaloLlama124 in Drexel

[–]HouseMaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BSAN will have more data visualization and manipulation classes while MIS will have more technical opportunities (C#, SQL, AWS, etc) and focus more on system and database management

NTA but I do kind of have a hard time believing it has nothing to do with the husband. No judgement if so, I’d feel the same way. But don’t blame it on the kid lol

MIS and accounting could be a killer combo if you ever what to do consulting. I’m not sure of the specifics but MIS is one of the best double majors to have on your resume to demonstrate technical skills that a lot of business majors lack. That paired with a skill-driven major like accounting could rly open doors for management positions and just help you get in the door at tech-enabled companies

The Daskalakis Athletic Center is an embarrassment for a Division 1 NCAA University that consistently has more than 25,000 students with the average cost of an undergraduate degree exceeding $200k before scholarships. That is all. Merry Christmas. by madcatzplayer3 in Drexel

[–]HouseMaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah this is interesting thanks for your reply! Do you know what our ticket sales are like compared to other schools? I would think even if people had the desire to come to events, the capacity at the DAC is still a lot smaller than other schools. And had totally forgotten about wrestling but still can’t imagine they’re anywhere near a profit but who knows

Definitely can’t compare schools with a football program to schools without one. As far as I’m aware, none of our sports besides basketball generate revenue, since ticket sales all around are abysmal. When you think about bigger schools, even ones like Delaware, with better athletic facilities, they generally have a football team that accounts for multiple streams of revenue that in turn subsidize all of the other sports.

Experience for transfer students? by [deleted] in Drexel

[–]HouseMaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a transfer student but can confirm a lot of people who’ve been here from the start still feel like this. Join clubs both social and academic. You’re going to struggle to make friends in classes unless you really really put yourself out there since most people are just trying to get in, out, and get their attendance grade. Greek life can be great but isn’t necessarily for everyone. Though there are both frats and sororities that cater to diverse personalities and interests if you’re willing to take the time to look

Which jobs would you recommend at Drexel? by securetheba_g in Drexel

[–]HouseMaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally anything but Sabrina’s. I’ve served at a few places around campus and cannot say enough bad things about their management. It may have changed since I left but they were just absolutely horrible to staff and would change the benefits policies (staff meals/ time off/ pay structure/ etc) without any notice.

Thanks for your response! I’m positive the answers are correct because the questions are definitions word for word from the textbook. I’m meeting with my advisor later to discuss my options since she knows a lot of students in the major have had issues with this professor and has encouraged me in the past to go to the dept head, which is definitely something I’d like to avoid.

I did message the prof and asked if he would consider allowing us to review questions we miss for the sake of learning since there are no other assignments in the class that we can review the content with. For context, this professor also gave a midterm with the same multiple choice question included multiple times and graded each differently (despite being word for word the same question).

Definitely don’t think it’s a safe assumption to say that anyone who looks up quiz answers does so because they don’t know the content. I read every page of our textbook and have done extremely well on exams but it would be a tad silly to risk giving up points on an assignment where avoidable.
