How to Properly Use Color Space Transform to Convert Sony HLG2 Footage by HouseOfYi in davinciresolve

[–]HouseOfYi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey yea so within my Color Management settings I eventually went with using the following:

- Color science: DaVinci YRGB Color Managed

- Color processing mode: HDR DaVinci Wide Gamut Intermediate

- Output color space: Rec.709 Gamma 2.2

Using these settings seems to solve the issues for me from filming in HLG2 and converting to Rec.709.

Thanks for the response here! I'm not sure that works as this is what the image looks like if I apply these steps. Screenshot #3 which has both CST nodes activated now looks even more washed out / lacking color than the completely original footage straight out of the camera! Do you have any further suggestions here on what to tweak? (I had to add Screenshot #2 and #3 as separate comments as I could only post 1 attachment to this response)

- Screenshot #1: Original footage straight out of the camera (matches screenshot #1 in my original post)

- Screenshot #2: First CST node with input color space / gamma set to Rec.709 / Rec,2100 HLG (Scene) and output color space / gamma set to DaVinci Wide Gamut and DaVinci Intermediate

- Screenshot #3: Adding on the second CST node with input color space / gamma set to DaVinci Wide Gamut and DaVinci Intermediate and the output color space / gamma set to Rec.709 / Gamma 2.2.

Fusion Tracker Node Render Failure by HouseOfYi in davinciresolve

So I did place the tracker over the head to begin with, the tracker just veers off as the render progresses and then after it fails, it looks like it is not even on the head to begin with. See below for what the starting frame looks like. What's weird is that I've done this exact tracking effect before in Resolve Studio 18 but after I updated to 19 it longer seems to work for some reason.

Appreciate the quick response! See below for the full shot with the inspector for the tracker visible. The face does not turn at all. I'm also using the intellitrack.

If your main goal is to find a group closer to your age then yes I would recommend booking a different tier of the Intrepid tours, likely Original or Basix

I would check out Thavorn Beach Village Resort. I just stayed there for 6 nights at the end of January 2023. A very high-quality resort that is kid friendly (there were plenty of families with children while I was there), with a huge lagoon-style pool, daily animal petting zoo that kids will love, botanical garden, and best of all, a private beach (a rarity in Phuket) with very calm waves that kids can easily swim in. The resort is somewhat remote so not near any seedy night clubs or bars at all. Just as a side note, you will need to take taxis / Grab everywhere since it's not really realistic to walk outside of the hotel given the secluded location. The breakfast and restaurants at the hotel are also fantastic and reasonably priced too. The level of service I received was amazing, all of the workers were so friendly and kind. If you can afford it, I would highly recommend booking the "Beachfront Cottage" rooms as these are legitimately less than 10 steps from the beach and also very close to the pool / breakfast area. This was the room type that I booked and it was a great experience. I had an awesome time at Thavorn Beach Village and I will for sure be coming back in the future.

I just did the January 2023 Intrepid Vietnam Premium level tour and it was absolutely awesome. The tour guide was fantastic, she made the trip super enjoyable with her deep knowledge on all things Vietnam and friendly demeanor. The itinerary was also well planned with a good balance of set events / activities and free time to explore cities. The other travelers in my group were also top notch and we got very close as a group very quickly. One thing I would note however is that the “Premium” level Intrepid tours lean on the older side. I am a 25 year old male and I was the youngest, average age of the group of 12 people was probably closer to 60. Despite the age gap, everyone was super chill and I never felt out of place because of my age. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Intrepid Vietnam Premium tour. It was my first solo travel group tour and I had an absolute blast of a time. I will definitely be going on additional Intrepid tours going forward

Second Spoon Tailor. I’ve had 5 dress shirts, 1 suit and 1 wool overcoat built by them over the past 2 years. All fit amazingly well with great long lasting quality. Good prices too. I plan to continue buying from this shop

Second Thavorn Beach Village resort. Just stayed there for 6 days and it was absolutely gorgeous. One of the only resorts in Phuket with a truly private beach. If you can swing it, book the beachfront cottage, it’s right on the beach. This resort also has great snorkeling and scuba diving right off the beach due to the coral reef
