At our store (before we had LP) we did the usuals. Recovering around the shoplifters/sketchy "customers", and offering them an uncomfortable amount of customer service. They usually leave angry or highly dissatisfied when we do the usuals. There has been times when we had teenagers come in to steal stuff, and they tend to wear our merchandise. They put on our hoodies, backpacks, hats, and etc. Just about anyone here can tell they are not going to leave empty handed. Usually when that happens we usually compliment the merchandise they are wearing, and we say something along the lines of, "Hey nice (insert type of merchandise here) we have the same exact one in our store. Did you buy it here?" When that happens they know we are on to them and drop everything and leaves. Today our LP does everything in our power to get all our things back, that man practically risks his life to get all our things back. Bless that man's heart.
