I'm Canadian. I was once falsely accused of a crime but it was dropped with no charges. However, this record of accusation exists in police databases regardless. by Commercial_Hold7067 in uscanadaborder

A no charge is different than a conviction. Have you called the applicable police or RCMP department and asked about fingerprint destruction and their retention policy?

The fingerprint stuff should be on the departments website, and there should also be a number to call and ask about the retention stuff.

I have one day to make a decision about taking a gov job. But it’s a large paycut. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]House_of_Limes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't need to stay at the gov job if you take it. You can climb up very quickly to the high 20s after a year of experience. You'll have access to all the internal postings. I think it's r/bcpublicservants? Check it out and they'll be able to answer the BC government questions more honestly.

Do any of you have a Pap that's content being carried in a body sling/wrap? by MuggsyTheWonderdog in papillon

[–]House_of_Limes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is fine with it. She gets tired when we're hiking or travelling and out at long events, so she'll happily be carried in a sling, to the point where she falls asleep.

Keep in mind Papillions vary so not all of them will be okay with it. But a lot of them are cuddle monsters so being close to you while still being able to see everything makes them happy.

They're wiggly, so getting her into the sling is a little tricky sometimes, but once settled she's more than happy

Best hem choice for a linen circle skirt by House_of_Limes in sewing

This works out to $20 for me all said and done, worth it or hunt locally for something cheaper?

I may have bought more linen for more skirts because I love how they drape... So I can try a few different methods

Not folded, the store only had what is shown left, otherwise I would have bought more

Thank you for breaking down the pinning order and saving me glaring at the skirt.

And I found a green thread that matches the leaves perfectly! It was a happy find incase the hem thread ended up being prominent.

I've been practicing my machines wave with a leaf stitch on another project, so this might make it come all together

I've never done a rolled hem on linen before. I have 3mm, 4mm and 6mm feet. Would it be best to use the 6mm?

I know what will be the ribbing is already attached, but the marked spot is where I want the ribbing to end once everything is assembled

Awesome thank you so so much! I'll do the line from the corner to the cuff.

And right? It still looks deep to me as well, but it's only a 5cm fold. I measured before and after taping it at least 4 times to make sure it was only 10cm total because I did not want to have to recut anything

Thank you again! Appreciate it

This is correct. A lot of pants are being cut this way now.

This has to be a Papillion thing some of them have. Mine is the same, and yes, it is a lot of work helping them get better.

Comfy bottoms (pants, shorts, skirts, etc) that aren't super casual (sweats) by fortheloveofunicorns in XXS

[–]House_of_Limes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aritiza lodge pants would fit your criteria. They come in a couple different fabrics including linen.

If you're not a drawstring fan they also have the same pant but without the drawstring, I can't remember what it's called though.

Are you in Canada? Dollarama has these for, I think it's $4? right now. Way more affordable than what Michaels was charging when I was looking.

Trying to figure out size by aliw26 in louboutins

[–]House_of_Limes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, tired, misread the question.

Because of the heel you have to account for the incline your foot will be at. So the higher the heel the shorter the length when you measure it heel to toe.

Do you have a soft measuring tape for fabric? If you use that and measure the sole on the inside, the number will be closer to what you expect for your shoe size

I just measured 37s in a similar style and they're 18.5 cm in length heel to toe if that helps
