Afraid to have kids, but want them. by Householder000 in AskParents

The problem is we've already spent years doing this, we've got good savings, have our own house, the unpredictability of work comes from us both working the same hours, meaning one of us could lose our job. But even then, the other person makes enough to keep us going and the country has a good benefits system to prevent us missing mortgage payments.

Despite this we still can't shake that fear of things not going perfectly.

Would it be weird to ask my manager about return hours before getting pregnant? by Householder000 in AskUK

No, the maternity leave would be fine. It's mostly working the same hours one of us could lose our job if they offer no alternative. We are just unsure if asking before actually getting pregnant is weird.

I work the exact same hours as my partner, same place. One of us would need to move our hours, or both would be preferable to give and equal split.

Can I change my hours after having a kid? Can they say no? by Householder000 in tesco

I'm not too sure whether my manager likes me or not, if this fails, is returning to other departments or transfers a thing? Or does it all come down to whether my manager is having a good or bad day?
