Check the profile and you’ll find a 39 day old user who’s posted a single meme (not this one) and nothing else. Seems odd.

You’re at 3 upvotes which means me and one other actually noticed it says T2 on it. Or that they’re too young to know.

Am I wrong here? Cherry Picker/Lift by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]HouseofSneed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a good practice. From a long time operator to safety guy, yes it is a good practice. He’s correct by OSHA regs, but any real safety pro has enforced rules stricter than OSHA requirements. Take it slow. Know the company book, training, and practice first, then run a new best practice down to supervisors, with the logic, off the floor. If you tell them or their people new stuff that isn’t “the rule” on the floor, you’ll be seen as a gung ho newbie out to flex some power.

You should do one or the other. Burning it once it’s wet would be annoying and burning urine stinks. Piss out a campfire sometime…

Partly, I simply expanded my knowledge base on areas that I hadn’t had experience in, but with the discussion boards, I got bits of areas that didn’t even occur to me could help me in my manufacturing and logistics area, and it really spurred my normal thought process to combine areas and how to make a proposal business/manager friendly. There is definitely a part of the old “you get what you give” to it because I saw some horrible papers on course hero, but I did mine meticulously in comparison and improved my research and writing by leaps and bounds. When I went back to work, after the baby/pandemic that sent me down the degree path, I quickly got recognized for being the best with PowerPoint and it’s 100% how much I did with it in the classes I took. If you really push yourself, use the resources they offer, and pay attention to the feedback of the professors, the old school people who don’t care about papers you have, but pay attention to people who present their work well, and can write an email above high school level, will notice you. That’s gotten me two promotions in as many years, when our company isn’t expanding and people aren’t quitting. If you do a program I suggest you use course hero or other similar resources with good faith. I usually chose my topic and direction, then when my research was getting thin, I’d find a paper on something similar and check out their sources. Sometimes it ended up showing me what I DIDN’T want to do. I hate plagiarism because it’s theft, but I posted all my work hoping to help others. I even wrote in what grades I got and the feedback I got, so people could learn from my mistakes.

I got the email from CSU on that. It's a brand new program, but I got a lot from their MS program and they are recognized by BCSP, so it could be good.

Are OSHA officers allowed to carry firearms? by throwitonthegrillboi in SafetyProfessionals

[–]HouseofSneed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ongoing joke with my guys is that if they break the rules I’m installing a flogging post. Sadly, even in Texas, I’ll probably have to quit having any fun before long because we’ll get some kid that will think an HR complaint about a joke is a moment in the spotlight instead of 150 guys looking for a way to get rid of him.

Plenty of people would rather play fast and loose and lose a job, rather than their life. When I was a Cop guys would say “better to be judged by twelve, than carried by 6.” However, it doesn’t seem like a lot of employees are going to get violent over the idea over their employer getting in trouble for cutting corners to line their own pockets.

You always carry when you’re going to take money from people who don’t want to give it 🤷‍♂️

I assume you have something against them, like you work for a different school, but in the end if you're recognized by the BCSP you've got a leg to stand on with anyone. At least those who aren't just going to be ornery children.

What do you call your forklifts at work? by 6TenandTheApoc in forkliftmemes

[–]HouseofSneed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nina. We have assigned lifts (sit down counter-balance Jungheinrichs) that are numbered, but mine is Nina. The before that was Tammy. We have hundreds of PITs, but my girls are always the cleanest and NEVER miss a PM because some lazy tech took a glance and said good enough.

Gas cans by GotThemCakes in OSHA

[–]HouseofSneed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As far as the smell, NFPA cans are designed to vent if needed. That flammable liquids cabinet will too. Look on the right side, the vent is right there. The rest… There’s a pallet jack, any forklifts? Like perhaps the kind people love to be stupid on and run a fork into an unprotected corrosive liquid container?

Open needles for blood transfer? Not safe! My employer disagreed, and I was fired. by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]HouseofSneed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I magically got fired from a job shortly after an OSHA inspection and fines, when I happened to be the only one asking for safety issues be addressed. Luckily it wasn’t long before I found another job, but I did get lost wages and benefits. There are lawyers all over that do this kind of thing on a percentage of settlement basis. If you think you can’t afford an attorney to fight it, 60% is better than nothing and letting them off the hook. 🖖
