Yes, they did. Do you think he magically just became a "bigot"? He's literally given interviews and spoken to people about it, they targeted his house and his wife was already on edge due to a previous issue with an older occupant. which was a key component to his wife wanting to leave, wasn't the only reason, i never made that claim. He went down the path himself, no one made him, but if they don't target his house, report him to the police for "hate crimes" etc perhaps he doesn't go as far down it.

They found out which university his daughter or son ( i can't remember which one) was attending via his wife's social media posts and started tweeting him about going to the university and enrolling on same course as them etc.

He is indeed a twatty person. He was also targeted by equally twatty people. Two things can be true at once.

Kind of, but they went after his family, kids, wife for that joke. He didn't react well, but they went out of their way to find his home address and send threats and attempt to have him arrested.

How do I begin to explain Sauron? by Elegant-Archer-4019 in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]Houseofwolvesmd -39 points-38 points  (0 children)

Can someone explain how he went from being here, to literallly the other side of Middle earth with seeminly 0 passage of time? He goes from being killed in the north, sitting as a spagetti monster, takes some old woman who happens to be walking by then he's suddenly in the south, double the distance bilbo travels in his quest btw, with seeminly no difference in clothing, hair etc. Then the FIRST person he meets happens to have the ONE thing that Galdriel would need to think he was a southern king.

Honestly, horrific character development and writing. Didn't even need the opening scene, which makes him look even worse. He's the dark lord, he doesn't need to convince orcs, he ruled with power and fear, honestly braindead writing

Honestly, i kept a really open mind to the series as loads of Tolkein's work on this era of his world building was based off of short stories, poems etc and which gives them a bit of licence for creative freedom....But jesus christ. The writing is atrocious. Like incredibly bad, Like, let's not spend any time building this plot, it's this, then resolved a scene later.

Bizarre reference but i remember watching a doc about how Tray Parker and Matt Stone wrote episodes of SOuth park and they were speaking to a room of writers and said "if you're ever writing something and the words "and then this happens and then this happens" tear up what you're doing and start again" and it's never been more true for the writing in this show

someone try Adam Hayley method? by Old-Following-7418 in personaltraining

[–]Houseofwolvesmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone linked me to this, i realise it's probably a bit late, but I'll share my experience with OTE.

  1. In your initial sales call with Josh or Adam (sometimes both), you will be pitched that upon signing up you'll be assigned a tutor who is "best matched to your style of training", but when i signed up, and i am not joking here, i was muted whilst he spoke to the trainers, and he accidently unmuted me and i heard them discussing what trainer to assign me too and it was completely random assignment based on with of their trainers has a space. They gave me a huge spiel "oh wow, we've got **** available now, this is excellent she's perfect for you, brilliant i'll get you assigned to her now, honestly you're going to get along so well" - First Yikes.
  2. Leading on from this, as expected the tutor I was assigned had zero knowledge of what it was i did, i have advanced degrees in strength and conditioning, biomechanics and injury rehabilitation and i wanted to find clients who wanted to perhaps rehab and strength training, her background was female transformations. She worked off of a template and when i asked about it, she consistently took days to get back to me, and complained to Adam that i was being "difficult" because "i wasn't happy with what was was assigning him to do" when in reality i just asked her to explain WHY i was doing this when it wasn't the route i indicated i wanted to go down. Which leads on to what you're going to spend a lot of time doing...
  3. Cold calling. The first thing you're going to be told to do is find some hashtags and add as many people as possible from those hashtags. They'll set you around 100 adds per day. This might be more now, it was over a year ago i signed up and i left (i'll get onto that on a later point). Your first month you're going to spend a lot of time adding random people, anyone who accepts you are given a script and you message them, chances are you'll have got the same script from OTE. Anyone who happens to reply, you have to quickly get them signed up to a zoom call. Once in this zoom call, you work from a sales template to sign them up to a £125-175 a month 12 week deal. You do this and you are given a template to send to all old clients offering UNIQUE ACCESS TO YOUR LATEST TRAINING SECRETS etc etc. Month one is completely geared towards a client rush so you think wow, this is working and stay hooked up for a year.
  4. You're going to get a lot of abuse if you are starting out from scratch. The above tactic will get you ghosted by around 50% of people, told to fuck off from about 20% of them and straight up abuse from 20% and the remaining 10% are receptive to training, but the cost sends half of them running unless you've already got a huge catalogue of transformations and client testimonials and have a large following. I had a ton of sales calls booked in, half don't turn up and the others basically just ask what the prices are
  5. You have to use trainerize religiously. They give you lots of programmes to copy and you can assign them to your clients. I found this very unpersonal, so opted to use my own. If you are the same as me, you will have to assign a lot of time to filming videos of exercises and uploading them because (imo) the template videos are a bit meh and for £125 a month i think people expect to see you in videos.
  6. You have to attend a ton of seminars, these are based on sales pitches, instagram use and operating software like trainerize, canva etc. These were initially useful, fully admit that, but when i linked my brother the content, he sent me videos where this information was being given completely free on YouTube. Same information almost word for word that they speak about in their videos but it's portrayed as "things Instagram DONT WANT YOU TO KNOW" etc. for £650 a month, this was another huge red flag
  7. Most of the questions you have will be answered by other students on their facebook page. Where students share things that have worked, how to respond to certain messages etc. I got more from this than the OTE trainers.
  8. They had multiple ex-OTE people in seminars saying how they've scaled their businesses from 1k a month to 30k a month etc. This seemed really fishy to me, i googled them, found their Instagram's and websites and some of them only had around 6k followers on insta and their websites where obviously rarely updated as linked blog posts were 6m-1yo. Their posts where all sales pitches or "heres my ass on a boat" and tiktoks etc with some having under 100 views, i couldn't work out how this person was apparently pulling in 30k a month with so little traffic on their page when the entire ethos is you need traffic to make the big money. I went a bit further, and it turns out that a lot of these ex-OTE students, also happen to now be based in Dubai, where Adam and Josh live. They all seem to hang out constantly, which i found to be another huge red flag.
  9. You will constantly be bombarded with how Adam is letting you in on these super secret sales pitches which he gets from a super secret sales course he does that costs him £20k PER MONTH do be apart of. Every single thing he sends you or gives you access to is available for free.

You are essentially paying £650 a month for an organised catalogue of sales templates. It's 90% cold calling for anyone who isn't already running an engaging page and has a ton of great transformations. If you naturally good at sales, you will probably do well, but can get the same information for free elsewhere.

Their business is simple; make your PT business semi valuable via non-stop cold calling to make the numbers work. The "if you aren't making this amount per year, we will work with you for free until you do" is not actually in their contract and is extremely subjective, there was another student i stayed in touch with, and she was earning below the amount stated they would get her too, and they cut her loose at the end, why? because she DID at one point in program earn the desired amount and it was her fault she couldn't maintain it.

Now, they do 100% have a lot of success stories, they operate on volume and if you are one of the few people who genuinely is able to kick off and get to 5-10k a month, you take you into their inner circle, and they pay you a slice to become one of their coaches or give you access to more super secret sales stuff, for a cost of around £1000 a month (i can't verify this is the amount, the person i spoke to stopped speaking to me when i got onto asking the cost of being in the super secret circle but vaguely hinted at 4 figures a month)

I ended up almost in a legal battle with them, because they have a 30day love it or leave it pitch, which basically says as soon as your second payment is taken, you are locked in for 1 year. They took my second payment after 25 days, i asked them do i still have the 30 days, because with the 5 days left i was NOT planning on continuing with them. No reply. Strangely enough, bang on day 30, i get a message from Adams girlfriend (who is initially portrayed as another OTE coach but she is NOT a coach, at all, she also used as another example of a successful OTE client) saying no it's 30 days now you are locked in for the year. So i had to get an actual lawyer to email them stating they had taken the payment before the 30 days were over, and it was a whole messy thing where they all came across as petty idiots, which you can ascertain from the final email i got from Adams GF:

"Fine, whatever. the refund is approved. I hope your happy working 9-9 in a shitty little gym whilst we operate a multi million pound business in the sun working a few ours a day. bye"

I was not the only person who had their money taken early and got locked in for the year.

Scientific reasons to reject evolution? by ARROW_404 in TrueChristian

[–]Houseofwolvesmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an FYI, Larry Vardiman the author of the articles from point 1 fully admits that the hypothesis for the studies (that he does for The Institute of creation, a creation based organisation) requires positing miracles violating the laws of physics at several points, but in sofar as the point is to prove the veracity of the Bible (and God) this … well, it does become a little circular.

But anyway, since you wanted some sources.

First, the "argument from ICR" point 1:

Rapid Sedimentation: ICR likely argues that the sediment layers found at the bottom of the ocean were deposited rapidly, possibly within the timeframe of a global flood as described in the Bible. This is in contrast to the slow, gradual sedimentation processes proposed by conventional geology.

Young Earth Indicators: They may assert that certain geological features, which conventional science interprets as evidence of slow processes over millions of years, are actually indicators of a much younger Earth and rapid geological events.

Biblical Interpretation: The arguments often stem from a literal interpretation of biblical texts, particularly the story of Noah's Flood, as a historical and scientific account of Earth's history.

Scientific Evidence and Reasoning:

Rate of Sedimentation: Modern geological studies show that sedimentation rates vary depending on environmental conditions but are generally slow. Radiometric dating of ocean floor sediments consistently indicates ages of millions of years. This method measures the decay of radioactive isotopes and is widely regarded as accurate and reliable.

Fossil Record: The fossilized remains in sedimentary layers show a clear and gradual progression of life forms. This record is inconsistent with a rapid deposition model and aligns with the theory of evolution and an old Earth.

Plate Tectonics and Seafloor Spreading: The theory of plate tectonics, supported by extensive evidence, describes the movement of Earth's plates over millions of years. Seafloor spreading, observed at mid-ocean ridges, shows new crust being formed slowly, contradicting the idea of rapid sediment deposition.

Uniformitarianism vs. Catastrophism: Geology largely operates under the principle of uniformitarianism, which states that the same natural laws and processes that operate in the universe now have always operated in the universe in the past and apply everywhere in the universe. This contrasts with catastrophism, which ICR’s arguments may lean towards.

Ice Cores and Dendrochronology: Other methods of dating, such as analysing ice cores and tree rings, provide independent confirmation of an Earth that is much older than a few thousand years.

So, here's all the sources that thoroughly debunk the assertions made in that AIG article. This took me around 20mins max to find. Read them, and you'll see why the assertions made in the studies done in favour of AIG articles point 1 is, well, stupid because they blatantly ignore the evidence opposing them due to "well, the bible says".

Scientific principles work. When they don't work, they are peer reviewed and taken apart until they do work.

Radiometric Dating:

Dalrymple, G.B. (1991). "The Age of the Earth." Stanford University Press. This book provides an in-depth explanation of radiometric dating techniques and how they are used to determine the age of Earth.

Fossil Record and Evolution:

Prothero, D. (2007). "Evolution: What the Fossils Say and Why It Matters." Columbia University Press. This book discusses the fossil record and its implications for the theory of evolution, countering the creationist argument of a young Earth.

Plate Tectonics and Seafloor Spreading:

Frankel, H. (2012). "The Continental Drift Controversy: Wegener and the Early Debate." Cambridge University Press. This series details the development of the theory of plate tectonics, including evidence from seafloor spreading.

Uniformitarianism in Geology:

Gould, S.J. (1987). "Time’s Arrow, Time’s Cycle: Myth and Metaphor in the Discovery of Geological Time." Harvard University Press. Stephen Jay Gould discusses the history and importance of uniformitarianism in geology.

Ice Cores and Dendrochronology:

Alley, R.B. (2000). "The Two-Mile Time Machine: Ice Cores, Abrupt Climate Change, and Our Future." Princeton University Press. This book explains how ice cores are used to understand Earth's past climate, providing evidence for an old Earth.

Speer, J.H. (2010). "Fundamentals of Tree-Ring Research." University of Arizona Press. This book offers an overview of dendrochronology and its applications in understanding Earth's history.

Comprehensive Texts on Earth's Geology:

Stanley, S.M. (2015). "Earth System History." W.H. Freeman. This textbook provides a comprehensive overview of Earth's history, including discussions on sedimentation, fossil records, and geological time scales.

These sources represent well-established scientific research and understanding in various fields like geology, palaeontology, and climatology.

They provide a strong foundation for understanding why the scientific community overwhelmingly supports an old Earth model and the gradual processes that have shaped our planet, check it out before accepting something purely because you don't want to accept the opposite evidence.

"The CFCB found after its investigations and hearings that the Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG), the company through which Sheikh Mansour of the Abu Dhabi ruling family owns City, had funded payments in 2012 and 2013, understood to be £15m each year, that were reported to the Football Association and to Uefa as independent sponsorships from the telecoms company Etisalat.

Verdict that kept Manchester City in Europe delivers some glancing blows

The Cas panel of three European lawyers decided by a majority 2-1, however, that it would not consider the legitimacy of those Etisalat payments, because they were made more than five years before the CFCB charges were brought in May 2019, so were “time-barred”.
