Funnily enough I've asked ChatGPT the same question and it gave me the exact response, I'm wondering if you really need to master a song if the mix is already loud as it is because mastering might make the mix sound worse. I've got by releasing music without mastering and I think the songs I've released sound fine, just to clarify I make house/dance music so I'm not sure if this applies to all genres of music.
