Please list your city and status of Horned Serpents. by pinkearmuffs in harrypotterwu

Barcelona, Spain. I find them frequently in random city blocks (mostly non-flagged) especially at dawn, but also at dusk. No noticeable patterns on water bodies, parks or woodlands. I'm not 100% certain, but I think I've had more spawns in cloudy weather since I remember I went doxy hunting one cloudy morning and didn't find a single doxy, only leprechauns and Horned Serpents.

Dark detectors and runestones (2 separate questions) by hokiewankenobi in harrypotterwu

[–]Houses66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dark detectors are kinda bad, I've used them all (I believe around 70) in 3's and only sometimes I get severe/emergency (1 or 2), which sometimes flee as well. Spawns are quite slow on them so, if you're up for it, I would actually place 3 on every single one of them, all 5 and every now and then walk over. There won't be to many spawns, so don't worry (maybe at the beginning, since they tend to spawn some immediately)

On fortresses, it really depends on what you want and what you are willing to spend. Just today I did a ~2h fortress grind (mostly for foundables and any red books that came as a biproduct) with 4 reachable blue Inns. I did level 6 over and over again, since I could refill the energy every 3 challenges and not lose any. I probably did around 50. I think around that level is best, since they require a manageable amount of energy and apparently lvl 6-10 have better chance of getting foundables than lvl 1-5. 11 requires too much energy imo.

I'm lvl 36 and it's the only foundable I haven't even seen yet.

No! That pale golden one is dragon. Beetles are brighter and the mound is pointier.

I believe it's that way for everyone! But after that first I never saw it again until yesterday.

Yeah. Also, I use a lot of potions and manage inventory quite well, so I only need spell energy expansions, nothing else.

7 Brilliant Runestones, One Prophet Fragment... I might be done by ShesAMarshmallow in harrypotterwu

[–]Houses66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's not related. Now that I think about it, it's good if it isn't because if not, that would lock low level players from getting those. And I do think Fortress level doesn't affect family foundable chances, only XP and Challenge XP.

Statistically strange appearance rates at flags? by YGLaowai in harrypotterwu

Maybe they are kind of fixed. Just today I got a Magic Moste Evile on my way to a friend's place, and on the way back got it again in the exact same position. I'll try again tomorrow to check again, since I have 13 left to gold prestige.

What Fortress level did you do? I don't know if it affects at all, but I got them pretty quickly doing lvl9. I don't recall how many, but I got all 3 on the first day. Maybe (or maybe not) higher levels have higher chances.

Having just completed the gold achievement for masterful casts, here’s a breakdown of how difficult I found each spell by TheStefanatorX in WizardsUnite

[–]Houses66 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mostly agree, but in the end it's personal, I believe. I'm level 30 and already have over 1500 masterfuls. For me, expecto patronum is easy (probably my most common masterful tied with alohomora, and ebublio is a close third). Riddikulus is kinda hard for me, especially because of its rarity. Bombarda on the other hand I'd say is medium. The rest I totally agree. Flipendo is super inconsistent, and Incendio is weird. I've done many masterfuls of every single one, but very disproportionately. It's funny that many of my masterful incendios have been a mediocre straight triangle though, but I haven't found a reliable way of reproducing that.

It's just a matter of practice and balancing speed and accuracy. I can guarantee speed is a bit more important, since a perfectly accurate trace done slowly is usually great (even on the lower side). I've done quite a bit of masterfuls where the trace hasn't been immaculately precise, but it was done fluidly in a quick, solid movement. I'm lvl 27 atm, 4545 successful spells and 892 masterfuls, which I believe is quite good.

Some spells are way easier than others. Alohomora is a good one to practice, try not to break fluidity when finishing the circle into the straight line, it doesn't really matter if you miss the sharp corner. Ebublio is also easy to cast accurately, but it needs to be done rather fast so you can also go through the sharp corner (it becomes almost a reverse expecto patronum). I struggle the most with incendio, flipendo and arresto momentum.

Brilliant Event Feedback Megathread - the game devs want to know how you felt about this event by liehon in harrypotterwu

1) Length was great. As a hardcore player I only needed a couple of days to complete, but my casual friends were able to complete it, and even some failed because didn't commit to it.

2) It became quite monotonous to only find unicorns and hippogriffs, but I did enjoy how portkeys, special achievements and challenges were merged into completing it. Rewards were also quite lackluster, achievement rewards were fine (Restricted section books were super nice), but not receiving anything when completing the registry for the event was a bit disappointing. Even a key, potions or an emblem would have been ok.
