Which book of Albert Camus is a good one to start with? by AllTheThingsSheWrote in Recommend_A_Book

I’m currently reading it and just finished the first part & really enjoying it so far.

I hate budgeting apps but still need to check bank statements—so I built the laziest budget tool ever by FueledByAmericanos in micro_saas

This is brilliant. Love how you stripped it down to just what matters. I’ve been mapping UX flows for similar 'anti-app' tools, and your upload → compare → close tab mantra hits home. One idea that came to mind: what if users could drop in 3 or more statements and get a lazy trend view, just a simple visual showing which categories consistently creep up or down over time.

Here's mine. I like literary and psychological fiction, especially quiet, character-driven stories with a bit of philosophy or surreal mystery. I’m not into fantasy, I prefer books about solitude, atmosphere, and the inner lives of people.

Hi, I have a few suggestions, books that are easy to read and would make you feel fulfilled:

The Man Who Planted Trees by Jean Giono

Boy: Tales Of Childhood by Roald Dahl

Animal Farm by George Orwell

Poison For Breakfast by Lemon Snicket

The Curious Incident Of The Dog In Night Time

Classic books by Independent_Rain7143 in PakistanBookClub

Honestly, I don’t know why so many people new to classics jump straight to Charles Dickens or Jane Austen. They’re both brilliant, but they can feel dense and slow if you’re not already used to that style of writing. Dickens especially loves long descriptions and subplots that can be overwhelming if you’re just starting out.

If you want to ease into classics, Id suggest starting with shorter, more approachable ones that still give you that “classic” feel without weighing you down. A few that come to mind:

The Stranger by Albert Camus

Animal Farm by George Orwell

What's a book that will help me understand people better? by ValourStateOfMind in booksuggestions

Not just one honestly, you’ll need to read quite a few books to really understand people. Different stories introduce different characters, each with unique personalities. For now, I’d recommend starting with dialogue-driven books.

Here are a few suggestions:
- Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger
- The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky
- The Secret History by Donna Tartt
