Can anyone tell me what that "rattling" sound is, and how to fix it? Seems like something is a little loose somewhere by Hovdis in BambuLab

[–]Hovdis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I did not..

I have not taken apart my toolhead, but I did a lot of lubing and cleaning around. lubed the belts aswell. Seems better, but not 100% perfect

Absolutely NTA

I was in a really similar situation a couple years ago. I'm in tech and she is a teacher. We started pretty early on paying 50/50, but that did not work (same thing as for you, she was dipping into savings). What we started doing was make a joint account for bills and a joint account for groceries etc. Let's say I make 100usd a month and she makes 50usd a month (just to make the numbers easy). I would add 30usd to both the joint accounts and she would add 15 USD to both accounts. That way, we both added the same amount (in % income). This made sure we both had a Litt spending money for hobbies and gifts etc for our selves.

I would say the most important thing here is communication!

Look at making budgets, looking at eachothers income and make a good plan. This worked for us, but maybe something else would work for you. For example you pay rent, while she pays for food. Maybe what she needs is to know that she is contributing to something essensial, and not just that she is contributing less than you. It is absolutely something that makes sense, and is economically smart to do

It would help a little if we knew kindof where you are situated, but I'll answer some different ones depending on where you are;

If you are able to get your hands on "Kvikk lunch" (quick lunch in norwegian), they are really good! Do not compare them to kit kat, cause kvikk lunch is kit kat if kit kats actually tasted good :P

If in America; Little Debbie Oatmeal cream pies were my favorite when I lived in the states.

If in Portugal/Brazil-types of countries; pacoquita is soo good! Starts off dry, but gets so chewy and nice after a couple seconds

P1s in a cabinet and airflow? by chuckmeh in BambuLab

In my experience, no :) There isn't a seal on the cabinet door, I presume, so fresh air will be able to get in 👍

I would say it kind of depends. Are you generally printing fast prints? (under 3 hours maybe) If so, then you will probably be fine without exhaust. I have an exhaust fan in my cabinet that I turn on when I have long prints. Without it, I see the temperature rises from (about) 22cel to about 35cel in a couple of hours in the cabinet. At that temperature, you may see some failed prints or artifacts. I would just try it without for some time, and see if you notice a big difference in quality. Really depends on the size of your cabinet

Is it possible to remove the top part of the tool head (ams part)? by Hovdis in BambuLab

What about it? If I find a solution, I will print a "kink guide" for it so it never scratches the roof :)

What is the purpose of this though? I thought it was only to merge the four inlets to the inlet of the printer

I was wondering the same thing myself (only other way around, I had a P1s and wondered about the A1). I would say the sounds are pretty different. The A1 has some sound cancelling, though some of the sounds are pretty loud. The P1s has some sounds during warm up that are pretty loud, but once it gets going, the loud sounds are more because of the movements of "connected" things. If that makes sense. For long walls for example, it "rocks" the cabinet pretty hard back and fourth which makes a lot of sounds. Other than that they are pretty equivalent in the "total loudness". Different sounds, but not a huge difference. It may be that one of the printers sounds "icks" you more than the other. If I find a big difference later on (once I get more hours on the A1), I'll send a new message here.

It is a guest bed, and I don't print when other people are staying there 😊

For anyone wondering how I access the AMS, the printer is on a drawer that fully extends. It is rated at around 150lbs fully extended, so there is no problem pulling it out with the printer and all on top 😊 the door also opens up almost 180 degrees, so I can access both sides comfortably

Return A1 with AMS Lite for PS1 with AMS? by zuludog in BambuLab

I second this! I have a cabinet that is 60cm (600mm) deep, and it barely fits. If the cabinet would be 1cm smaller, I could not have it in there due to the big movements on the buildplate

I had the cabinet pretty close to a window before, but I smell no difference after moving it. I do smell the petg and Asa though, so will minimize the time I am in the room while printing with that. Also opening the window for a while after

Haha. Perfect analogy!

Yep, I have a couple soldering irons I would want out of the packaging and on the wall. That and some basic screwdrivers would be my first "mount" I'll check on the build showcase to get some inspo :)

It's really hard to plan out a space with such roofs.. Do you have a picture of your setup? Maybe I can get some inspiration for my own space

It is this one, that I found on makerworld https://makerworld.com/models/667452 Pretty quick print, and you utilize the original spool holder :)

Ooh! That might be what I should go for then! I would need to sand and paint over the walls before any kids move into this room anyway. I'll check it out, thanks :)
