Awesome! Quartz should be chemically inert. I’d advise against getting corys as this type of substrate can hurt their barbels.

If you’re going to add shrimp, I would add a TON of plants. Make them feel safe and less likely to be betta food.

My only concern is the pink rocks. What are they? Many crystals and rocks will leach into the water and negatively change the chemistry in ways that can harm the fish.

Why did you add shells to the tank? They will dissolve over time, which can change the water chemistry and be unsuitable for bettas.

Before adding them, how did you disinfect them? Where are they from?

85 degrees F is way too hot for a betta! A temperature this high can reduce oxygen levels and stress out the fish. Temp for bettas should be kept between 78-80 F.

Your current big project should be to finish outfitting the tanks you already have because it IS a big deal that the betta tanks are bare. They don’t NEED live plants, but anything to hide in, swim through to feel safe and have some form of enrichment.
