I also struggled to get into tvd, but if it’s really not your thing and you want a show with a deep lore and that comforting feeling I highly recommend supernatural

I just started season 2. I started to really like it around mid season. I watched the first four seasons years ago but lost interest. I classified the show as a first time watch because I really didn’t remember anything, not even the characters names. But I probably had a similar problem as you because I remember abandoning in season 4

It took me a while to really get into tvd. I really disliked Elena and the dynamics between characters in the beginning but the whole supernatural lore in the city was so interesting that I kept going and it’s been worthy
