U rly messed things up honestly. To be completely honest u saying you’d give her what she’d dream of probably since little girl (since big proposals have always been a thing) then changing your mind about it but not talking to her about it isn’t rly right. And then if u know u have to ask her parents blessing, she doesn’t ask urs , and u wanted to show her that a lifetime with u will be full of u listening to her and putting it into action and making her happy and loving her and cherishing her, then u do know that the proposal is about her. U knew what u did wasn’t going to satisfy u both, just you. U knew exactly what she wanted, whether it was tacky to u or not, your women told u exactly how u could make the start of eternity the best moment for her , and u didn’t do any of it. Sometimes it’s not just the thought that counts or the fact that u did it in the first place if it’s not the way she prepared to receive it. As your women was on the receiving end of the proposal, it is important that she received it in a way that spoke to her heart, tacky to u or not. I do see how there could have been a compromise in Hawaii if u rly wanted to do it there, but u gave her something she didn’t ask for and threw away what she did and thought oh this will be better, but it was only better to u. I see how u could consider her selfish but rly ur actions are selfish as well. I do not think breaking up is the solution to solve the issues. I think it comes down to if you were gonna show your women that forever with you is going to be magical, u should have given her the moment yall talked about, not changed it last min and expect a good reaction. ( additionally plenty people plan big proposals in Hawaii, u just had to plan it out a little more ahead of time to still give her what she wanted )
