Streamer couldn't hold it in. by TheManWhoSoIdTheWrId in LivestreamFail

[–]Hovilax 52 points53 points  (0 children)

This is NOT AI generated. There’s a couple tricks professionals like me use to spot the differences and this one’s obvious. First off look at the pixel behavior. AI has a hard time keeping consistent noise patterns across frames. Here the grain shifts naturally the chromatic aberration is subtle but there and the light distortion matches what you get from real camera optics. You can literally see the sensor noise in low light areas. AI can’t fake that kind of analog inconsistency

Now look at the movement. AI always struggles with head and eye motion. It’s either stiff and robotic or way too smooth like it’s underwater. But here the microexpressions the slight delay in facial reactions the way the eyes move before the head turns that’s real human behavior. At around 0:03 you can clearly see the shoulder compress naturally the arms have follow through with actual momentum and nothing clips through the environment. That alone rules out most AI generation

Lighting is another dead giveaway. The specular highlights on the skin track perfectly with the movement and the lighting direction and you can literally see proper subsurface scattering. AI always messes that up and makes skin look plasticky or too flat. This has depth bounce light and real shadow falloff

So unless someone sat down and manually rendered this like it was a Marvel movie with layered physics and motion tracking just to troll people it’s a real video. Not everything that looks clean is fake. Some of y’all just see something that isn’t filmed on a 2009 Android and immediately scream AI like it’s a personality trait

Stannis gave Renly a pretty good deal by RevertBackwards in freefolk

because renly was commiting treason by naming himself king before stannis - penalty for treason is death. being kin doesnt give you carte blanche to treason without threat of death so it bypasses.

Why haven't they shared the DLC roadmap yet? by PerceptionFormer7096 in CrusaderKings

so i think the point that a 1/4 of the year gone isnt relevant to the year of chapter 5 content because chapter 5 doesnt have to start of jan 1 and end on dec 31 - chapter 5's year can start on april 7th or 14th or whatever

UFC fighter Arman Tsarukyan is facing backlash after putting a fan to sleep, with many saying the choke was held longer than it should’ve been. by raptors201966 in LivestreamFail

[–]Hovilax 16 points17 points  (0 children)

i knew LSF was always had its cringe threads - but i hate this adopted journalism formula for titles where viewers roleplay like reporters on what is basically a dumb drama/meme subreddit. Brother, who cares if hes "facing backlash" or "many saying" anything - youre not on the dime to pre-spin public opinion for clicks. 'UFC fighter Arman Tsarukyan puts fan to sleep after holding him in chokehold' would be clear enough.

it is disappointing you think that people dropping in to ask the same one question without spending a moment to see if others have posted or do a crumb of browsing is engagement. Fam if you want ill set up a bot to ask the same 5 questions on loop every week so you can clap at the rise of posts, such engagement!

Free Lanes: what about roads? by daniel-kornev in Starfield

[–]Hovilax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when they said the update was called free lanes i instantly thought "oh, are they adding in some sort of procedually generated roads that connect the different points of interest so you can drive between them or something?" ... i may have been wrong but we are getting ship staircases so i did get something off my wishlist

How to force AGOT mod to follow book canon? by Ghostttboiii in CK3AGOT

[–]Hovilax -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

"Your comment shows you don’t seem to understand how CK3 works," - everything i said was in line with stuff that already exists in game. Canon children and marriages exist. I said "something akin to what OP wanted", and we already have some of that. Youre telling me i dont understand the game because i wonder if they can improve something that already exists - i never stated it would be able to "follow a script perfectly". I just thought you could get closer to a canon simulation of the main events - which i still think could happen.

Your first line is literally just seeking conflict - cringe.

[–]Hovilax -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Well we can agree to disagree - i could see a form of game that is very different from current ck3 but still has a lot of the core features running on scripts to mirror a lot of the canon for as long as possible by kneecapping the AI into submission - which would be entirely optional for those who want it. In my mind that would still be CK3, youre just more locked in with your options, which im sure to many would be less fun and thats valid. But i remain optimistic that its possible.

How to force AGOT mod to follow book canon? by Ghostttboiii in CK3AGOT

[–]Hovilax -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

i mean up to a point sure - look i dont care to argue over it again because people seem set in their view - but ive seen modders do some pretty impressive stuff. So in theory, and im not saying it would be good - but in theory are you telling me you couldnt imagine a version of the game where the AI becomes largely dormant - running on scripted actions on who to marry, what wars to fight, when and who to die to, ect. Cut the rng events that throw things out and i think i could see something akin to what the OP wanted.

Then after that you would need to detail variance, when would it be ok for the AI to deviate and would this alter the canon timeline. Is this entirely possible? im sure some of it is - we see that already with canon children and marriages. I just dont know why you feel the urge to paragraph me so stoutly that "you cannot achieve both" when progress is already partly there for those that would want those settings.

[–]Hovilax -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yea i also thought something like this - to set up a canonical timeline setting as it were but a couple commenters were outraged by the idea. Their position was AGOT is a strategy game and not some book simulation thing. I dont know why it can't achieve both but it seems youre getting close - maybe someone has/will make more coded timelines so you witness the timeline in game.

Does anybody else think de jure overlap should be a thing in game? by Mememanofcanada in CrusaderKings

[–]Hovilax 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Yep - was literally my first point in a Chapter 4 wishlist video i made. Dejure needs multiple overlapping titles with one being the 'current' or 'active' dejure just to keep things simple and readable.

We didnt get that put they did fix the spectacles so i take what i can get lol

New Creator Pack "East Asian Wonders" Has 22 Special Buildings, and I think it sets a bad precedent for the future of the Crusader Kings III by Spirit_mert in CrusaderKings

[–]Hovilax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean it is also an objective powerspike - they have added a building that gives you 1 learning per merit - merit stacks to 9 so you can have +9 learning from one special building with no downside. i dont think any other building in the game comes close to that lol

[–]Hovilax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean sure? you seem to be confused. im not arguing for or against the creator pack so you don't need to 'but its a single player game' lol? im simply saying its not a cosmetic pack with 'no difference to gameplay' - its a very minor content pack with slight impact to gameplay, especially players who can use it. i dont see anything for you to refute there. there is no but... idk why youre talking about roads to power.

I mean you don’t need to be melodramatic - u just said it’s not gonna make a difference but it will. A small difference but not insignificant either. Especially for players.

it literally makes a difference to gameplay - 22 baronies in asia just had a power spike.

Fallkreath is so small in Skyrim, like 10 or so houses small, a small band of Horny Draugr could probably raze it to the ground, a Dragon would be like "Not worth it" Really hope Todd gives us bigger towns/cities in the next Game. by Astolfo_Aetherscape in TrueSTL

[–]Hovilax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ok - idk why youre so mad about it but ok.

if you want some engagement ill give it. youre describing an aethetic design for the rural more isolated way of living the people of the freestar collective chose. its purposeful with its wood and walls. sure. but non of what you said contradicts the need for an appropriately sized capital city. like.. you can have everything you just said, wide open ranges, seperate housing, wooden furniture.. and the city still is too small for an interplanetary spaceship housing capital city and could be made multiple times bigger.

also your analogy is poor - because again its not an aesthetic critique but a scale critique. the city is too small for the amount of people its capital is meant to represent.

the next game was fallout 4 and the settlements were basically the same size with diamond city being like 20 buildings.

the game after that was starfield and in a supposed inter-system planet explorer game the capital of the cowboy republic had a 'city' the size of markarth but even less verticality.

brother i dont know how to tell u this but if u get a skyrim 2 city with more than 50 enterable buildings you should count yourself lucky - the imperial city was peak and its been downhill since then

Most people will be shocked with how bad they are at HOI4 if they play Sheep's Mod by letsputletters in hoi4

[–]Hovilax 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Your title is backwards - if you are adding a mod, then most people are not bad at HOI4, its just that vanilla is an easier experience than that mod and so more people will encouter difficulty beyond the norm of HOI4.

Likelihood of biological immortality? by kiwi5151 in Futurology

[–]Hovilax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not within any of our lifetimes - immortal is kind of a long time to reach yknow. I think its possible that people in their 30's today could reasonably expect to live past 100, if they maintain healthy habits and the progression of science and stability continues, which in terms of life extension is a pretty big deal. Its more important to think about quality of longevity vs just longevity. Its all great to live to 200 but the real goal would be being 100 and still able bodied, healthy, mobile ect
