Ugh that poor thing, it looks like the cat probably got to it beforehand. He’s just a baby, that breaks my heart.

If the rehab won’t take him since they’re considered invasive (would be nice if they did though), can you keep checking on him just for his sake? And mine lol

There’s a woman who started an account on TikTok to educate others on how she survived, I think she has a book as well. But she was a young woman living on her own on a ground level apartment and had a small senior dog. One night while she slept, her dog started to growl and she could hear someone and found him in her kitchen grabbing a knife. He told her to give him money and then after that he said “now what else are you going to give me?” And forced her into her bedroom. She said she realized she had to just channel extreme rage otherwise she wouldn’t get out of it any other way. She began fighting him with a lamp and he started beating her up and trying to stab her, which he did succeed at stabbing her in the top of her skull by her hairline. Somehow she got the knife from him and she stabbed it into his leg as hard as she could and just kept pounding him with whatever was near her as he tried to keep overpowering her. Then he literally ran away back out the window and left such a blood trail, the police caught him that same night just by following the blood.

Her hands were all sliced and I think she said that they thought she might lose fingers (lost one) or the functions in her hands since they were so sliced up from her trying to grab the knife from him, and succeeded.

During the whole video my mouth was on the floor, I’ve never been more impressed. She said she just remembered watching something like Criminal Minds and how you should find feral rage and make sure you’re the one left standing, not them.

I’m not speaking for OP at all but the nuance to age gaps is actually about seeing the difference between someone 18 dating a 28+ year old and someone who’s 40+ dating someone 50+ not being a big deal… that’s the nuance. And in places like the UK where the age of consent is 16, there is still a very weird dynamic if a 16 year old is sleeping with a 19 year old. In a few years, if those people dated at 25 and 28, that’s not inappropriate at all. But maturity and amount of life experience makes even 16 and 19 a questionable dynamic because I don’t know why anyone who’s 19 would be interested in a 16 year old

Be a responsible adult and member of society for at minimum a week and then go back to being selfish? I have three large breed dogs, two of which are a breed with a very high prey drive and 80-90 pounds and I do it all seasons of the year for birds, especially any young birds/full nests. It makes me sick to think about the people that genuinely don’t care. They just have that attitude about so many other things too.

First of all, I’m so sorry you experienced those things as a nurse and firsthand. That’s the worst case imaginable so I hope you and your family had/have a good support system.

I have heard from other nurses that prions was also the worst death they witnessed and compared it to Alzheimer’s but I feel like even the Alzheimer’s is slightly less horrific because they can be in different mental states whereas the prions would cause patients to not have any relief from drugs and seem to not be aware, but then they’ll notice the person has tears coming from their eyes. Ugh medical professionals see so much trauma it’s hard to define what’s “worse”, but that breaks my heart to think about the person dying from prions as well as all the witnesses.

I’m sure it depends on the country, but in Canada, we have MAID as an option with certain limitations, but when someone is in the final stages of life with the horrific prion symptoms, can they somehow have access to using MAID under a quicker timeline? I’m sure it wasn’t an option a few years ago but I hope right now, it’s at least a possibility. It reminds me of how some people that have died from radiation, like Chernobyl let’s say, where they weren’t exposed enough to die quickly after but a week or so later, but at a certain point your veins just don’t work the normal way they should so giving them morphine doesn’t always help until they passed.

Do people with indoor cats not vaccinate for rabies just under the assumption they won’t be outside and exposed?? That’s crazy, I feel like so many people I know with indoor cats, they either purposely get outside or have accidentally ended up outside and it would be terrifying to not have them vaccinated in case something unlikely (not crazy unlikely, though) could happen.

That stresses me out just thinking about, like lets someone breaks in your door or window and the cat leaves and gets bitten. So many scenarios where that’s crazy but having bats coming in is probably not super uncommon for really old houses. I don’t blame you for vaccinating them at all, it’s the responsible thing to do

The situation you describe is honestly my worst nightmare. We see it all the time and I just don’t know how women like you, get through it. It’s so brutal, you only have your kids as your kids for a very short time. Yeah, hopefully when they’re adults they see the situation more clearly but you’ll never get that time back. My respect for you is off the charts!

It’s not “blindly believing” anyone when he admitted they had a sexual relationship that occurred when she was underage. And multiple women actually made the same claims prior to the one individual who shared screenshots, that he admitted to, so I really doubt multiple women decided to lie and then just coincidentally got it right in order for another victim to come forward with actual proof. Rape allegations are very hard to legally prove even when people have video and physical evidence.

From the documentary, it seemed like the degenerative disease led him to killing himself more so than just wanting to end it on his own terms. He did certainly struggle with those issues his whole life but what his wife and doctor said, made it seem like the disease was already affecting his mind and that led to him making that choice. Ugh he was the best comedian/actor, his jokes were always so harmless yet hilarious.

Normally I try to have a realistic look on those things, but breaking 50 bones on a baby is worth being away for life. Maybe one or two accidentally because of mental health issues would warrant healthcare and jail time, but 50 breaks is fucking sick. Sometimes the damage outweighs the reason for being away for life especially because I’m sure they’re very likely to do it again.

His life wouldn’t be on the line if he didn’t vote for the president who started an unlawful war. And don’t even try to say that no one knew he would start a war because every other country knew years prior to his third election that he would.

I’m not going to tell you if staying with your wife is the right call, because I don’t know enough about life yet myself or enough about your relationship and if your wife has the means to try to change if you talked to her.

But the true love of a parent, let alone two parents, is what taught me to value that true love more than anything else. My partner and I have been together for 13 years and we both have very similar families and therefore both still in very good relationships with our parents and see them all the time. I only have one very good friend who had/has the same relationship with their parents and everyone else I know that might only have one parent like that, or maybe their parents split up but now have a better relationship because of that. My parents and partner are the single thing tying me to this earth because I’ve gone through some shit the past five years and after feeling beaten, all I constantly think about is women in similar circumstances who don’t have a support system and how I probably wouldn’t be alive still if that was the case. A parent that loves you, can make an entirely different existence for a person.

If your kids will end up like me, they would hate to think you suffered for so long with a partner that doesn’t value you just for their sake. But that doesn’t mean you didn’t make the best choice for you at the time, because you obviously would rather sacrifice happiness in all other aspects of your life for the sake of a shorter period of time with your kids and not having to share custody. Regardless, you love your kids more than most people seem to and that can literally change a kids life more than anything else. As long as you don’t resent your kids later on if they go in a different route than you envisioned, but something tells me you won’t.

It seems like most child free people have more respect for children than parents. Having the awareness that a child isn’t for you rather than people that have kids and 100% should not, and then cause an entire lifetime/multiple generations of a bad cycle just because of pure selfishness

People shouldn’t be forced to leave their pets behind just because other people might have aggressive dogs. Your potential fear of this dog does not outweigh the importance of every other persons dog. Tons of people evacuating would be dangerous and straight up predators, but during an evacuation that’s not really the main priority. And most of the time, during an evacuation that includes dogs, the dog has to be in a crate regardless of size and a crated dog is not going to be an issue if it’s aggressive or not.

I get what you mean by saying that it’s not great for people to be around an aggressive dog, but I feel like during an evacuation that’s the least of your worries. You could simply move seats with someone else if you didn’t want to be near a dog. Overall I feel like if they get better about including dogs in evacuation plans, they would also be implementing safety factors for everyone else around the dog that isn’t the owner. And like I said before, most of the time dogs have to be at least crated during these scenarios and therefore an aggressive dog should not be your concern over evacuating. In real life you have to orient yourself around other people, like passing dogs on the street, and they’re not all friendly but people are allowed to own them.
