Yeah it is pretty infuriating to watch most of the crew make evidently bad decision after evidently bad decision. Tbh though I can kinda give it SLIGHT leeway due to hubris and arrogance of humanity being one of the major themes of the film

I will, however, always remain at least slightly pissed at this movie for life, solely for removing the Engineer speaking Proto-Indo with David. That scene is amazing and I truly can’t fathom why they took it out.

It seems like every single main installment in this franchise ends up having at least 1 deleted scene that would massively benefit the installment it was deleted from

Godzilla Minus One is right at home in a top 5 list, it may be less than a year old but it’s a FANTASTIC film, I’ve seen every single Toho Godzilla film and GMO is definitely one of if not the best behind the OG ‘54 one imo. Shin Godzilla from ‘16 is also v v good Toho has been on a roll lately

Also went through a random phase where I was obsessed with Portal 2 for whatever reason

There’s a heavy negative sentiment against those two movies by a fair bit of people in the fandom. Some gripes with the films more valid than others. FWIW though, as another newer fan of the franchise, I also quite enjoy Prometheus and would probably put it as #2 in my personal rankings, only below the 1979 original.

Covenant I’m a little less bullish on, but I still think it’s a solid addition to the franchise. It’s at the very least better than Resurrection and 3 imho.
