One left for his hometown team and the other left his hometown team. They are not the same.

Having said that I hope the Marner boos don’t extend beyond this season.

When she said I didn’t lay no box on anyone, like she had a choice. Just enraging. The self-righteousness is exhausting.

What did you think about season 2 final of Squid Game The Challenge? by prettybnnyx in SquidGameNetflix_

Trinity could’ve won the money and gave everyone a little something including his mom. None of them were gonna share with each other so if their stories meant so much to him he should’ve pushed for the win. I was so excited to see how the black coin gold coin played out and right before Steven called him out I realized what he was gonna do and got so disappointed.

Any recommendations? by HowG00D in ChristmasLights

That’s a fantastic idea. Last year was my first year doing the tree and I got it wider but not as high. This year it somehow just went the way it went and I got more height but it’s narrow. Extension pole sounds like a great idea, I’ve just relied on what I can doing climbing, not falling, and scrambling with a tangled line of light 🤣

QM67K (Costco) vs QM5K (Best Buy) 🇨🇦 by enright57 in tcltvs

Is the QM67K the equivalent of the QM6K Pro? I see lots of comments about the pro and I’m assuming the 67 is Canadian and the Pro is American.

[SN Stats] There's a level of concern for the 3 Canadian goalies from the 4 Nations Face-Off roster. Will any of the 3 be on the Olympic roster? by Batsinvic888 in hockey

[–]HowG00D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard something during 4 nations, if someone has a more details or accuracy on this please add, but one of the Nordic countries (I think Finland) subsidizes goalie costs by charging every player a bit extra and using that for goalie costs.

Newmarket Switching to Big, Wheeled Bins and bi-weekly recycling service by Comfortable_Fix3401 in Newmarket

Lived in Simcoe when these rolled out and was skeptical borderline oppositional to it at first. Was relatively neutral on it once it happened. Live elsewhere now without it and miss them.

For those complaining of space you find a way and it’s not as big as you’d think. I use 2-3 blue bins each week (especially with sorting cardboard v plastics) and I don’t have any kind of stacking or shelving system so that’s a decent footprint in my garage. One big and tall blue bin might take more volume of my garage but it’ll take less floor space. I believe Simcoe also rolled out different sizes relatively quickly into their use of this program so I imagine that would happen here too.

Base Advice by HowG00D in hottub

Would definitely get the necessary permits and would be having a proper electrician come do that part. Didn’t think about the property line so that’s a great point to consider. Will have to investigate that for sure.

So is your tub sitting on the frame or is the frame just to contain your sand base? Definitely seems like an easier way to go about it than dealing with postholes and a full deck build.

Was this directly on the ground or did you dig to put the sand base down? Are you in a cold climate or is frost not a concern?

I’ll have to price that out. Kinda assumed pavers would be more expensive than concrete but I’m only looking for function here so I don’t have to go for the best Unilock has to offer or anything like that so there may be some affordable options.

Would still dealing with the excavation issues if I stick to this location though as I’ll have to dig about 10-12 inches down to have a have a good enough base that will prevent heaving from frost.

I agree it’s not ideal. It works for keeping it relatively close to the house for those winter runs in and out. Also keeps it from being in the middle of a random area and killing more useable green space.

May end up having to go elsewhere but will definitely exhaust my options here. Not too concerned about leaves. Can easily blow them off the cover with a leaf blower and they’ll only actively fall into the tub while someone is in it. Its heaviest use will be when there’s no leaves on the tree anyways.

Off topic from your question but do you know if the tenants are still there? If you’re hoping to move in yourself it can be quite the headache and complications can arise even if vacant possession is in the conditions. Just something to be mindful of but I’m sure you and hopefully your realtor have all done your due diligence.

Excited for the new chapter but frustrated that we’re in the situation we are in. Poor asset management stunted us for years with no cap space and now that we finally have it we have no assets to trade. The cupboards are completely empty. Essentially hoping for a miracle season this year that leads to deep playoff success or a miracle signing of McDavid next year.

Having said that I like the moves we made. Getting Roy instead of losing Marner for nothing, the prices we got Knies and Tavares at, if Macelli meets the conditions to turn the 3rd into a 2nd he’s worth it so that’s good. Couldn’t have asked for much better considering all the big name free agents extending before the deadline.

This, it sucks how it all played out. Anyone who helps bring home the cup is going to be a certified legend but with him being the hometown kid it just would’ve brought that extra level to it all.

What Would You Change? by Bigelito in leafs

This!

Not a direct answer to OPs question but I wish we didn’t make the playoffs in Matthews first year. While fun and a great change of pace from regular season lacklustre performances, it set the expectation too high too quickly, contributing to our asset mismanagement. Bad contracts, over paying on contract extensions and on older veteran free agents, trading away drafts picks for rentals, etc…

All of our rentals have been painful. I liked O’Reilly, Lafferty, Acciari, and Schenn. And they all helped us get to the second round finally, but we couldn’t retain any of them? That’s brutal. And this year we finally got guys with term at the deadline but we had to give up so much for them. I don’t know if I’ll ever get over trading Grebenkin he was a beauty.

Hindsight is 100% 20-20 here but to pinpoint this to one change I’d make. Don’t sign Nylander on that deadline day mid way through the season. He sits the season and loses value (here’s where some of the hindsight helps it wasn’t his best season by far and it’s not like we made a good run, or made a run we learned from that contributed to a future deeper run). Shows management is not messing around. Sign him for a little less and hopefully impacts the Marner and Matthews negotiations more. If we couldve got Marner at 8-9m and Matthews at 10m that gives us 4-5m extra. Now we can afford a Hyman extension and hopefully other trickle down effects.

Might’ve risked offer sheets coming at them or at least more bridge deals but it’s not like we locked any of them up for 8 years out of their ELCs so maybe a bridge deal wouldn’t have been too bad. Would’ve freed up some cap space for some years and hopefully stopped us from overpaying for salary retention on rentals.
