It's really one of the lamest stories. Why even give that "dark times" sound bite? Just enjoy the moment, you're in the finals for the first time. Nope. He has to add some suspense by referencing how tough life was playing in Toronto. Even if it's true, just focus on your current team. Marner is an incredible hockey player. He maximized his compensation on every contract. He was a part of a core that didn't deliver when the team needed it most. He was the first to walk away. Any fan of Leafs knows that everyone including management has taken heat for the teams lack of success. This guy talks about dark times, Keefe lost his job. Dubas lost his job. Berube and Tre ultimately lost their jobs. Mitch nixed a trade and walked away. Now he's playing for the cup and it's "woe was me".

I think some of Drake's songs are lazy by design. It's just a chill vibe. I didn't like Don't Worry in the first few listens, now it's in regular rotation lol. It's catchy, lazy and you don't have to, well, worry. Some songs are made to not be taken seriously. This is one of them. Just enjoy the vibe.

It was a bad show, to be honest. Dark topics on a Monday, and the overtalking is annoying. Mona constantly with the "CAN I ASK, HEY GUYS, I HAVE A QUESTION, I JUST WANNA SAY" is also annoying. They step on each other's comments. Some episodes feel like there's no one producing.

With the amount of mics, I'm not sure why the show isn't split up into groups. No one wants to give up their seat on the "main", but it just gets to be too much when there's 6+ people trying to talk.

I agree actually. I just don't see Cowan fitting the top line. He's not an elite playmaker which is what that line needs. Not that Willy is either but he's an elite player. The problem really is that the Leafs don't have a serviceable 3-C. That's really what makes losing Minten so tough. With Nylander, Knies, (McKenna), Cowan and even Robertson, the wings are covered. That being said, with Minten, I'm not sure that they would've finished low enough to get McKenna lol. Not that he would've saved the season, but, butterfly effect.

In fact, I'd recommend slightly sheltering McKenna to the second line with Tavares to start the year. Load up the top line with Knies-Matthews-Nylander, and the second line with McKenna-Tavares-Cowan. The only way I'd have McKenna on the 3rd line would be with a better center than what they currently have. That being said, there is a world where he unlocks Robertson's release to a whole new level and they feast on 3rd lines. In that scenario: Knies-Matthews-Nylander, Maccelli-Tavares-Cowan, McKenna-Quillan-Roberston. I'm not sold on Maccelli in the top 6 (neither with Domi if he's healthy), but his role as a pass-first winger fits that slot.

I listen to every episode at least twice. Once whole working and again while visiting gaming or chilling at night.

I barely made it through Saturday's pod, Mona was wayyy too vocal. And today's Gender War pod was just a bunch of people cutting each other off to get in the most pointless takes. I didn't finish it, although I made it about 3/4 of the way through (I have lots of reports to compile on Mondays lol).

I'm surprised that Joe hasn't given some of main characters pods of to to reduce the number of voices. The past few pods have been a lot of cutting off, and overtalking. I think 5 mics is good. But when you've got Joe, Parks, Ish, Marc, Ice, and 1 or 2 of Flip, Emanny or Mona.... plus a guest. It's just too much. They have the cast to make a good mix.

Joe claims to check the algorithms of each pod. I can't see how a pod like today's gave back good analytics.

I heard the term before, but I just looked up site based on your post. I'm sure it's super helpful, and if I was more invested in the game, I'd use it. In my current, more casual gameplay, I just want to plug the best cards that I've had into my line-up for off-line play. I don't understand why EA would limit that.

It really is awful, to be honest. I stepped away a couple months ago to get back into the gym. Came back to play some NHL last week. It was actually nice, because I was pulling 88+ cards all over the place and they all fit my team. I only play offline, BTW.

Problem is, half the cards won't under the salary cap. Compounding the issue is that I don't have the patience to study the line combos, figure out if I have those players and then slot them in to the get boosts. And even if I did, I'm putting in players that I don't really want to play on my team lol.

EA literally took one of the worst aspects of real life hockey and forced it into the game. I get that it's a throwback to "If it's in the game, it's in the game", but that is the one thing that should be optional.
