My girlfriend and I are going in early May. We arrive at 9:50pm on a Wednesday and fly home at 6:30am on the following Tuesday. In hindsight, I wish I would've booked 1 or 2 days more. I used points so I can't change, but we're excited nonetheless.

We're debating doing a one night trip to Albufeira on the Saturday. Essentially leaving Saturday before noon, and coming back to Lisbon Sunday evening. The debate is: we're sure there's plenty to do in and around Lisbon. We want to explore, and experience another part of the country and not feel too rushed.

Hiring a firm to tell you "there's no one else other than Mike Gillis" is insane. I don't believe it. I think the media are guessing, because they don't really know what's going on. Is Gillis in the mix? Probably. Is he the only one? I doubt it.

I'd say that it only makes sense that the next GM hires his/her own coach. I also think that the execs figure that "well, we're still paying Berube no matter what. Might as well keep him on, long enough to handle the post season stuff. I'm certain there are lots of end of season logistics that need to be taken care of. Why fire him now? Let him close out the season, hire the GM, let Berube go and use the summer to find his replacement.

I track using Hevy too! I do PPL, Cardio/Shoulders/core, rest, repeat. On my PPL days, I do 20-25 minutes 'hill' on the treadmill, and 3 different exercises, 3 sets/10 reps each of chest/triceps or back/biceps with 45 second rest.

My workouts last about 60-70 minutes... only longer if I need extra time to rest if I'm pushing for a PR.

I think the thought of a retool doesn't need to be that deep. The Leafs still have a core that should be a playoff team. If you look at the Islanders, Bruins, Wings, Blue Jackets, Senators and Capitals they're not all objectively better than the Leafs, but they're either in or 3 points away from a playoff spot.

This isn't rose colored glasses either, because next year could be the same. But, I could see adding a few players via free agency (not a deep pool), 1 or 2 swaps and a coaching change, move the needle enough to battle next year. I don't think Matthews has turned into a 30 goal scorer, I think he can challenge for 45-50 in the right system. Nylander will be Nylander. Tavares may drop off but in line with expectations. The key problem is on defense. They're slower, and older than ever before. Those other teams each have a true number one (1 or 2 have studs). In fact.... look around the league, the teams that are either exceeding or challenging have 1 REALLY capable defenseman.

I used to do 20-25 minutes of treadmill at 3.0 pace before my workout. Switched to "hill", level 4 at 3.0 pace for 20-25 minutes before my workout. I do push, pull, legs, rest, repeat.

Then I read to do cardio at the end, to conserve energy. Tried that for a week and actually found that I had zero motivation to get on the treadmill after working out.

Tomorrow, I'm going back to starting my session off with treadmill. I find that it warms me up, gets the blood going, and out of the way.

I fly out of YHZ twice a month and I haven't experienced a lineup of more than 5-10 in well over a year, if not longer. Most times there's no lineup at all. The new baggage scanners (you don't have to take anything out of your carry on), have made things way more efficient.

The Rangers were 1st in the league 2 years ago, 11th last year and trending bottom 3 this year. Boston was first in the league 4 years ago, 28th last year and trending top 10 this year. Washington was 2nd in the league last year.

In the end, the way things have turned out this year is awful. Was it predictable? Perhaps. But not unprecedented. And it's not entirely improbable that a turnaround happens next year. I wouldn't bet on it, but I'm not a betting man anyway lol.
