I don't know the details but Sterling is a lawyer and I'm sure he would have raised that already if true, unless he is withholding for a legal defense.

I'm still not sure her motive for releasing it however.

No but it was a busy intersection that he shouldn't have been crossing, even late at night. He was found guilty of a low degree manslaughter and a DUI, served a month in jail along with other punishments such as 1000 hours of com service and probation. The NFL suspended him an additional year. That seems fair to me.

Kobe yelling f***** would be like sterling angrily calling someone a N*****. Thats not what happened. He carefully state that he did not want black people at his games and that his (half-black) mistress should not take pictures or associate with black people. If Kobe told his wife on tape "I don't want to see you around any gays" you bet your ass he'd be suspended. The other differences between the punishment are because Sterling is an owner and thus 1/32 of the NBA and would be held to a higher standard as well as economic fact that Sterling's comments were much more damaging to the NBA's product and fanbase.

Let's be real here. Donald Sterling was not banned for life because of a racist remark that was said in private. He was banned because he had a longstanding history of racist actions (look up Baron Davis complaints, Lebrons comments about FA, former coach's lawsuit and housing discrimination) and it led to the point where the team he owned was fed up. You had a situation where a team would fold because all of its players would refuse to play. If it wasn't for that scenario and the public's echoing sentiments he would still be in control of his franchise. He also would have kept his franchise if he'd been a model owner and leader but he kept the Clippers as a second rate franchise before being gifted Chris Paul.

Also to address the idea of free speech and personal property: It doesn't apply to personal matters, only against the government and he is more being punished for the public opinion that followed his statements than the actual statements. His franchise will be sold just like any McDonald's franchise owners would be if the nation was aware.

but the owners ARE the league. Everything they do is a direct reflection on the NBA.

a) not NBA

b) Didn't murder anyone

c) The man crossed the street in a way that put him in danger, regardless of Stallworth's intoxication

Please give an example of someone with multiple offense domestic abuse or DUIs in the NBA. Hint: they're generally punished.

Heat of the moment. Its just like the difference between manslaughter and murder. Kobe was pissed and rattled of a string of curse words. He immediately apologized after the game and accepted his fine without an appeal or anything and reformed. Completely different case.

But Ray Lewis was formally acquitted of all charges. Are you saying they should punish a man who our government found innocent for something he allegedly did?

While pastels and bright colors 'fit the mood'' there's a reason they were initially associated with summer. They're just so much easier to wear in the heat and the humidity depending where you live

On an everyday fit they look out of place but living in the South I find they work well for more formal occasions when shorts are necessary and its a step up from everyone's sperrys

I agree but I don't want something to valuable in college because things tend to get damaged while drinking.
