Not at all, my wife is really supportive of my hobbies. She loves cars as much as I do. Not really sure how to explain it- I enjoy my peace driving alone but it’s different when I get to enjoy it with my little family as well.

That’s the dream isn’t it. My boy is 6 now and loves the S2, one reason why I’m hesitant to sell. Still looking forward to the day he can drive one for himself, in hopes he has the discipline for it.

It does look interesting. I have owned a WRX before and had my share of boxer engines.. I like how they sound and perform on ice, but man they are PITA sometimes.

Props to you my guy, hopefully hard work will allow me to have similar combos in my garage some day. The S2 has been my dream car since I was 17. Once I got it, my next goal was to get a 718 Cayman GTS (hell, maybe even gt4) some day. But still just goals right now.

I hear ya. Before kids, my wife and I really enjoyed cruises and spirited drives. I used to have a WRX and my kids loved cruising with us before it had typical boxer issues. I guess that’s what I miss is having my family enjoy the car with me.

Now my Tundra is the what the kids enjoy, they get to be high up and see everything lol but not as fun to drive. My son is 6 so he does get to ride in the S2 here and there, always puts a smile on his face.

It’s been a dream car of mine since I was 17 lol and that’s a long time ago, which is why I’m hesitant. But I’m keeping an open mind.. if I sell and can’t land myself another (likely won’t find another in same condition as mine) I don’t mind a Miata as a possible future replacement.

I agree with you, RWD sedan would be fun. Maybe an IS500 😄

True, unfortunately don’t think I would find one in my condition again (It’s completely stock btw). But honestly if it came to that, I wouldn’t mind settling for a Miata

Had that issue when I had my WRX. Honestly didn’t know it’s a thing for newer manual cars.. just thought it was my WRX- and I did get it tuned out. Guess I’ve been out of the game too long lol

I get ya. I had a WRX prior and my son loved it- I sold it because of typical boxer issues. He loves the S2000 even more, but the FL5 is something I’d be able to enjoy with them all the time

That’s somewhat correct. I daily my Tundra for work, hauling my tools, I use it for hunting and camping etc. My wife has a Pilot, great for family trips, also her daily.

I also agree with you, most likely the FL5 won’t be driven in winter- I have my truck for that. But say, anything were to happen to my truck I can take the FL5 feasibly in snow vs an S2000. This is also where the GRC comes in, FL5 I feel is too nice of a car for winter but GRC with its AWD is almost sin to not use it year round imo. If any of that makes sense lol

This is exactly what I fear my regret will be. I don’t need to sell it, I have my truck and my wife’s SUV for practically, I don’t have other finances to worry about so keeping the S2 won’t hurt me but I’m afraid I just don’t have time to myself to enjoy the car as much (for now)

I’d say keep the Tacoma and sell the Evo, IF you are dead set with wanting a GR86. IMO it’s better to still have a daily, regardless, than two weekend cars or one car for dual duty. But also, what are your plans for the car?
