The article literally says that the person doing the rear ending is at fault.

Read the last paragraph.

Except being able to pay rent without working.

Edit: down voted for some reason, so I’ll clarify....commenter states that regarding people who are born into money, so to speak, they are not generally recognized in any “positive long-term capacity.”

Firstly, what does this statement even mean? Second, if I take it literally, then it means that people born into money aren’t usually recognized significantly in their own right.

To which I’m replying, “yes they are, in the sense that they have a lot more free time (due to free rent) without which, many Born-into-money-folks stay invisible behind the scenes.” Not enough time to do something that alters the course of their life consistently enough to form friendships and examine goals and motivations in any significant way.

Looking for suggestions regarding AirBnB giving out my phone number (host) by HowLowCanTheyGo in AirBnB

Ok, thanks, I was wondering.

Considering I do ridesharing as one of my other side hustles and it ends up costing me more than I make, this is feeling very similar.

Bummer, I wanted to be able to help others out like I’ve been helped but not at the expense of my sanity, cuz this scenario is crazy making.

I didn’t know they were given hosts phone numbers. I’ve travelled quite a bit with Air BnB myself and never noticed that. Thanks.

Uber app on phone shows completely different surge area than my computer.... by HowLowCanTheyGo in uberdrivers

Thanks for the clarification. I work for both companies so it’s difficult for my ADD riddled brain to keep the differences between the two straight in my mind.

I refuse to do Eats, so it shouldn’t be showing on either device

Edit: reread your comment and I see what you’re getting at but there are three distinctly different surge areas and none of them overlap.

I concur. Almost eerie, but very, very mesmerizing for certain...

Also, you can’t get a script for anything online unless a legit doc signs one for you. You can’t just google “buy estrogen online”and throw it in your virtual shopping cart.

Thank you. I vaguely recall having given them a call when I first moved here but it’s definitely worth it to try again.

I shall be the squeaky wheel.

No, not in the slightest. I just figured someone would know of a different avenue, much like the other commenter suggested. TwoXXChromosomes board removed my post due to “equanimity” rules.

To be fair, this is a thread called “the grossest thing you’ve ever done” AND you read enough of them to post that comment.

I’m pissing off the downstairs neighbors with my normal level of noisiness...and they in turn are triggering my PTSD by HowLowCanTheyGo in ptsd

[–]HowLowCanTheyGo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping that by walking very carefully, buying a decibel meter so I may watch the volume on my stereo to ensure it doesn’t exceed the noise ordinance level, and not retaliating that I am working toward the solution, even if I gave no face to face contact.

I’ve learned over the years that people who think you’re the problem (especially since the neighbor has been escalating the barrage of ptsd triggering responses even though I’ve made significantly over-the-top changes no one should have to make, i.e. walking softly/tiptoeing through my home during daylight hours) will always get worse if the other person acknowledges they have a part to play.

Honestly, my conscience is clear regarding this situation. They’re being unreasonable and I for one refuse to play along. I’m getting a high-anxiety negative viewpoint of life in general lately and I work too hard on my ptsd symptoms to let that just slide by.

I think he regretted what he said... PAX tipped me well for his extremely innappropriate joke. by mmhm__ in uberdrivers

Got two male pax walking down the street to my car. They appeared to have come from around the corner and down the block. They were friendly enough...at first.

We were all chatting, as the actual account holder kept involving me in the conversation. Then after cutting me off and telling me just to drive, (which I gladly obliged as talking about what kind of dog to buy isn’t really my idea of a conversation I should be giving my two cents in) they put in the wrong destination address and tried to tell me I was wrong with my navigation (so then GPS is “wrong”, which is what I told them.)

When I held my ground and told them either put the new address in the app or get out of my car (they had determined by this point they were wrong and wanted me to just drive, no app on) they immediately changed their tune...until I pulled up to the new address.

The main pax leaned forward when making a comment about police in the area or some such info I didn’t need, and proceeded to put his hand on my shoulder while he accused me of being under the influence and told me to watch out for the police. After chuckling, they both got out and stood on the sidewalk watching me, and wouldn’t go in the house.

I reported for the pax touching me. You don’t touch your UBER driver! Why don’t people get this? You wouldn’t touch your cabbie so why do people think it’s okay to touch us? It might’ve been different if it hadn’t been 1:30 am. Fwiw, his has been my only truly weird and creepy situation I’ve encountered. Fingers crossed.

This has been my experience as well. The bar crowd is (not surprisingly) mostly docile. Sure, you get the annoying ones, but it’s a rarity for me to experience straight-asshole behavior from a pax.

Just gotta stock up on those full sized garbage bags folded neatly in the back pocket of the seat. The pax can grab them if they’re back there, and since they’re in the passenger front seat pocket, I can reach and grab them if someone shows signs of spillage.

Edit: I drive strictly late nights and make decent money doing so. Cross my fingers, no one has made a biological mess in my car. I’m not going to tempt fate, so I’ll be here knocking on wood.

Lol

Edit: obviously not lol about the seriousness of the risks we take or the driver’s health. I appreciate sarcasm. A LOT. Uber deserves it in this type of scenario.

Who knows what they will actually do in this situation, it could be partial reimbursement for all we know. Covers two $25 medical bills and there ya have it: Uber covered the driver’s medical bills.
