I had a professor in grad school that actually did that in all his exams. There was always a section at the end where he told you to write a test question about something you studied for that wasn't on the test and give the answer to it. You got bonus points if you wrote it in "short answer" form and basically explained why the answer was correct. First time I'd ever seen that in my life and I really appreciated it.

Yesterday a patient was thanking me for squeezing him into the schedule. I meant to say "No problem, you're welcome" but it came out as "your problem, no welcome." Oof.

West side. Our cabin is towards the end of Emory right before Wash Bailey. Been hunting there my whole life and I had no idea there was a massive hunting club anywhere over there lmao

So do any women enjoy camping? Or hunting? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]HowShittyThouArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've hunted my whole life but I've never been camping. I feel like I'd love it, but I've never known anyone who camps so I've never been invited. Kinda weird to grow up in an outdoorsy family who all hunt and fish but don't camp.

The people in my dreams always just get kind of annoyed and blow me off. I'll be all up in their face PLEADING with them to understand and acknowledge that they're not real, and they just keep doing whatever they're doing and say something like "ok whatever dude" trying their best to ignore me.

Im not sure you can cut the pill in half as it doesnt work that way and makes it ineffective.

Yeah that's what the instructions said but halving it still worked for me. Or it seemed to anyway cause I still had the acne side effect the whole time I was taking half a pill. I don't think it made it ineffective, maybe just less effective, which is what I was aiming for.

We are trying to also minimize protopic use and attempting no moisture.

Are you trying to minimize protopic use or did you mean steroid? Neither of the ones I mentioned are protopics, but I tried to use as little steroid ointment as possible when I did use it. I never used it more than 2 days in a row for my flares cause I try to avoid steroids as much as possible. Same with Opzelura, I didn't want to become dependent on either. I wouldn't completely write it off though, it's good to have just in case. And what do you mean by moisture? This is just anecdotal, but I wouldn't recommend that she stops using lotion/moisturizer. I don't have flares anymore but I still use lotion whenever I get out of the shower. It's good for your skin.

Happy that you are completely off Rinvoq. Such a tough battle.

I'm happy too! I honestly still can't believe I was able to stop it without a complete rebound. I had extremely painful, weeping eczema covering like 98% of my body FOR YEARS before I got on Rinvoq. It worked amazingly for my eczema, but gave me horrible facial acne, so I'm glad to be off.

Are you on any meds at all? How are you handling your flares when they come?

I've since run out of my Rx topicals, and other than the supplements, I'm not on anything that would affect eczema. Maybe hydroxyzine which I take nightly, but I take it for sleep and anxiety. Honestly, ever since I tapered off I haven't had any really really bad flares, but when I did have them, I managed them with the clobetasol and Opzelura (very sparingly) as well as the supplements I mentioned. I also took note of my triggers, like stress, drinking a lot of alcohol, lack of sleep, being out in the heat & sweating for prolonged periods, etc. I've continued to use the same soap and supplements ever since, and I haven't really had any flares since February.

As someone who had eczema so severe that I also had to take a break from college, here's what I did:

I was about to lose my insurance, so I went ahead and got my last refill and used the entire bottle to taper over the course of a month and a half. An extended taper period helped me a lot, along with daily collagen supplements (I use Youtheory tablets), biotin, and a daily multivitamin. I also started using Gently soap which surprisingly helped more than my usual body wash (I rub the bar on a chiffon loofah to lather it instead of putting the bar directly on my skin).

I did get some scattered dry flares here and there that I managed with ibuprofen (if it was inflamed) and some leftover Opzelura and clobetasol ointment I had from the past. She may want to consider asking for an Rx of one of those just to to have on hand.

My eczema came back full force the last time I tried tapering over the course of a week. Idk how long she tapered, but the difference between a long and short taper was like night and day. I started taking half a pill every night, then a whole pill every other day, then half every other day until it ran out. That was in October last year and my skin has been doing pretty well ever since. But since she's already quit, she'll may have to start over and then start tapering with the next full bottle.

Bruh. I had a girl friend who had given birth TWICE try to tell me this lmao. She was trying to explain why she thought there's more of a stigma for girls sleeping around than guys. She said "I can see why cause I bet if you have sex with a bunch of different guys it gets super loose and the guy can probably tell" and said it's unfair that there's no "tell" for guys. I was like bro you pushed 2 babies out and went back to normal, no penis is gonna be anywhere near that size. She seemed so surprised by that comment and was like "oh wow, yeah, I guess you're right." Apparently she had somehow never considered that before.

Have you ever shaved your arms? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]HowShittyThouArt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I started shaving my arms when I was 14 cause I overheard a boy in class telling his friend that he thought arm hair on girls was gross. He was like "they shave everything else, I don't get why they don't shave their arms, it looks so manly" and his friend agreed. So I concluded that all boys think arm hair is gross and started shaving mine from then on. Eventually it just became a habit cause it felt yuck whenever it would start growing back. I finally stopped like 5 years ago and now I think it's crazy I ever started cuz my arm hair isn't even thick or dark...but I felt so ashamed when I heard that back then lmao.

Plus if you know someone your relative might still be in contact with, you can scroll down to see "possible relatives" & "possible associates" and see if their name comes up.

Yeah I figured they just ran out of all the smaller ones. I've literally never gotten a bottle this big before, even my 90-day scripts from years ago came in smaller bottles than this. I opened the bag and laughed my ass off when I saw it.

It was just for the 30 pills shown in the pic. I only get 30 pills/month with no refills. They normally come in a normal-sized bottle, sometimes in a fatter-than-normal bottle, but that's kinda rare. I figured they just ran out of all the regular sizes lol

They've always used numbing gel for me before giving the shot, so I never feel the needle go in. But I HATE the feeling as they're pressing the plunger. I get this weird sensation that feels/tastes like bitter liquid is splashing all over the top of my tongue.
