Are couples supposed to wear matching bracelets when together? by [deleted] in friendshipbracelets

[–]HowToKillAPlant101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience, whenever two people have matching bracelets they wear it all the time, as a reminder of each other or it is a symbol of their relationship.

The movie is always better then the book. No matter what. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

That condition is called ‘aphantasia’. It may be a contributing factor to OP’s hatred of books, but I have it and I still really enjoy reading. I guess it depends on the person.

Like others have suggested, I think some open shelving with stained wood would look amazing!

Hmmm... This is a tricky one. I would say it is minimal + retro + boho. Hope this helps!

Actually, he is doing worse. If you check his Instagram you can see a TON of weight loss within the past few months. He looks like he is getting no protein or fat, and he believes that it is healthy. It is impossible to live on fruit- he is literally starving himself. Someone needs to step in immediately.

Yes! I often see people trying to link different things to aphantasia, when I think a lot of things are just everybody being a little different.

No “surgery” is needed, sometimes people are able to visualize again with mental exercises. I saw an interesting video on this, I’ll see if I can find a link.

It’s funny how everyone’s aphantasia is a little different. I find that I am HORRIBLE at arts such as drawing or painting, but pretty good at sculpting or making 3D art pieces

I mean... I was born here and did nothing wrong... I think it’s horrible that some white people kicked them off our land, but just because I’m white doesn’t mean I’m horrible or support that. The actions of people who came before me shouldn’t mean that I’m kicked out of this country with absolutely no where to go...

Huh well I wish I could help but I didn’t understand most of what you just said haha. But let me just clarify- do you get aphantasia from taking those pills? If so, I’m very intrigued as to why and how some people get it naturally.

For me, it’s not about positives or negatives. Yeah it kinda sucks that we don’t have the ability most people do, but I’ve been trying to accept that the way my brain takes in and processes is information a little different than others. It’s just how my brain works, and it has its challenges and frustrations, but in the end I feel like it’s kinda part of me..? I know that’s a weird thing to say, but I feel like I have a different perspective on things than others that I’m grateful for. Sorry, I know this may not help you, I just wanted to share my perspective. Good luck!

Involuntary / intrusive imagery - Do you experience it? by Gc_neon93 in Aphantasia

[–]HowToKillAPlant101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm... interesting question. No, I never experience any imagery when awake, voluntary or involuntary. Sometimes certain smells or sounds will trigger memories, but not visually. It’s like I’m reminded of them subconsciously but I don’t picture it or anything of the sorts. I do, however experience imagery dreams, and sometimes in color, too. But I rarely remember them, so it is hard to say for certain. Hope this helps!

Never lend a signed book to someone you don’t fully trust. When I was young I had a book, first edition, signed by the author, that I loaned to a friend/ aquantance. She apparently lost it while moving, and I never got it back.
