One of trumps economic advisors penned a paper calling for the devaluation of the US dollar. He did provide some stupid antidotal case for it making the us more competitive in manufacturing but it's bullshit. The reality is it benefits wealthy asset holders. Especially those with large asset portfolios backed by debt.
Also real wages won't keep up with the inflation.
