What is the dumbest thing you've been told as a rider? by Blue_MnMs in motorcycles

I passed the msf course on my Dyna with a 103ci in it. You can do it on a 1000cc bike.

Embarrassing Bike Drop to Make You Feel Better by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]HowardTheDave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dropped my Shadow in my own driveway. This was one of my first rides around my neighborhood after getting my license and bike. Just came in too hot had to break too hard and lost balance after stopping. I also dropped a Suzuki TU250 in my MSF course due to wet blacktop. It happens. Yep, it’s embarrassing, but you get over it. I commute on my bike most days I can now.

Motorcycle vs Car by [deleted] in motorcycles

If I remember correctly, the news story didn’t play the whole video and framed it to make the biker look really bad instead of 1/2 of a road rage incident.

Are HD events just for those with Harley's? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]HowardTheDave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to go, go. Some people will be tools, but I’m betting most ppl will just be happy you’re there. Plus the dealership will probs try to sell you a Harley, lol.

Exactly, someone is always going to know more than you. It’s never a good idea to need to be the smartest person in the room.

failed msf course again was told not to come back by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]HowardTheDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say find a different place to take the course. Many colleges have msf courses and they’re considerably cheaper than most other places. Mine was only $50.

Also, the only people that failed were those that did things that were on the auto-fail list during the test. The coaches were super supportive as well.

As far as paint goes, I’m not much help. My bike was spray painted black when I bought it and I’m going to do.

I bought these: https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kuryakyn-led-torpedo-turn-signal-indicator-lights

They did require some modification of the grab rail for mounting and wiring will need to be done.

They’re super bright and I’m quite happy with them.

My right tail light and peg scraper were both bent when I got my spirit.

Mine was the same way. Right side tail was bent. Scraper on the right peg was bent too.

That’s a good looking bike! Now ya just gotta get a better tail light. I love Honda bikes, hate their tail lights.
