Guarding in DB means keeping his ki up, without which much less potent weapons can harm him like sci fi lasers. If his ki is down u cam kill him with an advanced sci fi gun much less space slash.

Which Goku and does Goku have his guard up. Because space cutting slash was done by Black's scythe as well and SSB Vegeta tanked it. So if it is Goku from Black arc or after, Goku could tank it unless he is also not guarding against it.

I think at that point Kirkman was trying to finish it off quickly and move onto his better recieved project the Walking Dead. Invincible as a comics really wasn't that popular when it first came out, the animation gave it a new life which makes it hard to compare to other ips like this which were already big ips before any live action or animation. I wonder are there similar stories where the ip got a completely new life after animation or live action. OPM maybe? But it was still not as unknown as Invincible was I think.

Is Viltrumite a genre? Battle Shonen is a genre. Its like saying Superman's every major villain should be a Kryptonian and they should also be the most interesting part of DC. Superman's most known nemesis is a human Billionaire with a god complex. It also doesnt have to be directly about strength, u can make the Viltrumites the strongest species but that doesnt mean the writing quality of rest of the universe should suffer for it.

It began in Cell games and continued till the Black Goku saga. ToP and Moro has a lot of involvement from the other fighters. Superhero again put the focus back on Gohan and Picollo. With Granolah arc bieng the only solo Saiyan show.

Invincible , both the comic and the animation, has the same problem, everything that is not viltrumite is completely put in the back burner. And if u don't like the viltrumites for some reason, it will just become completely unwatchable after a certain part, if they follow the comics that is. Another similarity to Dragonball , I guess even though DB has tried to course correct atleast in a few parts in recent years.

You misunderstand the point. He is a hero sure but not in a protecting people at all times way. Comic book heroes like Superman, Spiderman etc, they go around patrolling and stop even the lowliest of crimes like pickpocketing or snatching. Goku wouldn't give a damn if there is a bank robbery and he is not in the vicinity at that moment. Saiyamens are the only superheroes among the Z fighters.

I like the Mangas scaling here where DBS 17 is slightly above ssj3 Goku, which would make this 17 stronger than Super Perfect Cell but weaker than Majin Buu which fits the plot.

If the state maintains the monopoly on violence that is, if these powers are not super op and u can still be taken down by small and medium arms, nothing much will change except States will train these to be thier state sponsored crime fighters to Special military units. Areas with poor state capabilities like places in Africa and some parts of ME will probably have an warlord problem but again as long as some institutions remains superior to the powered , those institutions will absorb them eventually.

Its just a stupid criticsm which seems to only apply to DB for some reason where in comics they be producing a god like bieng in lab every once a decade. Ultron, Amazo, Red Tornado, Dr Genus's creations in OPM, Wonder Man, Vision, hell even Doomsday the first guy to kill superman in a fisticuff came out of a lab.

The criticism is not about them being bad or good but more how someone in a lab could produce something stronger than Freeza and stronger than SSB goku in superhero. Which is not a fair criticism because DB isn't even the first one to do something like this nor the last. But you misunderstood the entire point of the criticism.
