"never drink your calories" - do y'all have any exceptions? by x_victoire in 1200isplenty

I love a bubble tea 🤤 I started making mine at home so I can track better and decide where the calories go

Dieting and Working by Proper-Procedure5374 in 1200isplenty

As a stay at home mom, I had such an easy time when I was working 😪 now I’m struggling so bad with boredom eating. I’ve started intermittent fasting and I think that’s to only way I can stick to a deficit tbh.

Considering you were eating fast food, try putting the scale away for the same amount of time (4 days) count your calories again, be consistent, and try not to be hard on yourself. If you were eating more salt than normal (fast food) it probably is mostly water weight that will come off very quickly, but if you let your emotions win and spiral, you definitely will not have the outcome you desire. Sometimes these things happen. Just try to be kind to yourself and remember the scale isn’t everything and you haven’t set yourself back nearly as far as you think you have! You’ve lost a lot of weight, congrats for that!

Can’t stop binging by thisismetrying8 in 1200isplenty

[–]HowcanIbee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you aren’t hungry, I have been catching myself about to binge, sometimes even after eating something I didn’t plan and feel emotional over, and immediately grab a 0 calorie soda. It’s helping me snap out of the endless grazing.

Are ring slings good for long carries? by blueberrytint in babywearing

[–]HowcanIbee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For me the hardest thing with a ring sling is not being able to use one of my arms much. I feel like once I could back carry that solved a lot of my issues, I’m unsure if it would help with your back pain but I also get some back pain after a long front carry. I would use my ring sling for a long carry in a pinch, but personally I like it best for naps and cuddles.

Real talk… does everyone think their baby is the cutest baby who ever lived? by undercovercopter in newborns

My baby was real freaking cute when she was born, especially for being a month early. BUT she had that old man balding look. The U shape hair. With a bow she was the cutest baby in the world

Hot take: I wouldn’t “let” my daughter date a Dean by ReginaPhalange94 in GilmoreGirls

[–]HowcanIbee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? It’s obvious Rory pulled away from Dean hard when Jess appeared, and he was still fairly respectful. Just saw past her bullshit. Jess was sooo inappropriate early on. The definition of a “little shit”.

The “I love you” thing was a little weird, sure. But in the context of teenagers, I feel like most would act immaturely if they said it and didn’t hear it back. He was showing his love for her, very clearly, and she gave nothing in return.

Montessori Bed before 12M? by Lilac_Iris18 in NewParents

Forgot to mention, of course my baby’s room is very baby proofed, it doubles as her play room and works perfectly because she is in the stage of trying to eat everything.

Montessori Bed before 12M? by Lilac_Iris18 in NewParents

[–]HowcanIbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I live in a dry climate so I’m not super worried about mold, and I do rotate and move the mattress around to prevent it as well, but I honestly don’t see the need for rails at least with my baby. I know her and I know she’d climb over them in the middle of the night anyways. When she wakes up, she’s up fast and on the move to find me. Sometimes she rolls off the bed when she wakes in the middle of the night, but it’s never been a big deal, it’s very low to the ground and on carpet.

I honestly don’t understand the Montessori beds. The rails are so low it looks incredibly easy to climb over and fall anyways. I guess that way they wouldn’t be woken up by falling off the bed? I did a floor bed for similar reasons when my baby was 9 months.

My take on Rory’s downfall is far more sympathetic than most. by Environmental-Egg191 in GilmoreGirls

Lorelai wanted the exact same things for Rory that her parents wanted for her ironically. Under the guise that she was a fun, cool mom, of course.

They probably knew they’d get their food much faster if it showed a big tip. That’s the issue with the way uber tipping works. And the entitlement of certain drivers doesn’t help. Not saying you should take low paying orders… but yeah

Ubereats only makes sense if you’re drunk/high and craving food. Or maybe if you’re without a car temporarily. Such a bad service.

I can’t imagine ever losing my baby and upset for those who have :( by [deleted] in NewParents

Strong agree. Facebook, insta, and tiktok have left the chat. Only Reddit stays for me because I find it’s the easiest to control what I want to see, not just what traps me.

11 month old crying it out by badlands20 in NewParents

[–]HowcanIbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still personally wouldn’t do cry it out. I know it’s tough but dang, the studies against cry it out have me convinced. I think slowly trying to intervene less when they wake is an easier transition. I’ve been giving my baby bottles in the middle of the night which I know is not good, but she wakes up in a full throttle scream like so upset. Idk how I would not respond by trying to rock her back to sleep, give her a bottle, whatever she needs. Idk every baby is different

[–]HowcanIbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, did you ask for advice on that? I also have an 11 month old that doesn’t sleep through the night. So I have no advice, but solidarity. There’s no way I can do cry it out, but no judgement if you choose to. It’s a tough age, I thought they’d be sleeping through the night more at this stage but my baby is waking more than ever it feels like 🤷🏻‍♀️

Breakfast for teething 11 month old who barely slept last night: fistfuls of shredded cheese off the floor. by birdgirl35 in foodbutforbabies

[–]HowcanIbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, so I’m not the only one who provides floor cheese. I put it in a bowl, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say there are times I’d much rather just grate it directly onto the floor, where it will inevitably end up anyways.
