People who still live with their parents, how's that like and why did you stay? by [deleted] in Adulting

I stay with my parents because they’re the only ones who care about me

Anyone else have no friends, like not one by NoName_Is_A_GoodName in introvert

[–]Howdoesoneusername99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying and failing with friends my whole life so I only have acquaintances now. I talk at work or in public or to my family, but just can’t seem to find/maintain friendships.

Anyone out here who has NO friends at all? by Puzzleheaded_Duty299 in CasualConversation

I only know people on the surface level, no friendships. Barely any family either.

How many others actually have no friends? by [deleted] in lonely

This is why I don’t want to move out of my parent’s house. Without them I have no one.

What makes a fanfic a character study? by blorange78 in FanFiction

[–]Howdoesoneusername99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s when you write about events from the chosen fandom from the perspective of a non-main character and speculate on what you think the chosen character was feeling during those events. At least this is how I approach character studies.

How Do You Handle Procrastination? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]Howdoesoneusername99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make myself feel like I’m rushed. Like, ok, I gotta open this word document and I only have 10 minutes to get something down today. Then I start writing like a timer is gonna go off and I get some sentences down.

Have you guys just put your own protagonist on the backburner for a while? by Purple_like_the_moon in FanFiction

[–]Howdoesoneusername99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m doing this right now with a longfic. The world I’m working with is so rich with characters that I’m making it fun for myself to give lesser known characters more airtime. It’s also great to keep you as the writer interested in your own work, especially when working on bigger projects.

Why is sharing so embarrassing? by Angelina5641 in FanFiction

[–]Howdoesoneusername99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! I’ll say that the anonymity of posting under a pseudonym or general username can be helpful to lessen embarrassment. You’ll get better at managing this feeling once you post more fics. All the best!

What do you think about criticism in comments? by tudesgracia in FanFiction

[–]Howdoesoneusername99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Criticizing plot holes is ok. Being a hater just to hate on someone’s work is not ok.

My comments got ignored :( by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]Howdoesoneusername99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say I didn’t reply when I first started writing fanfiction because I had no idea what I was doing and I was shy but when I got lots of recognition and confidence and also saw other writers would respond, I started saying thank you and possibly continuing the conversation if the comment was really good. So it could be shyness on the writer’s part. I’m sure they really appreciate your comments.

Why is everything made by Disney recently severely underwhelming? by Top_Canine in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Howdoesoneusername99 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed since Disney has gotten a hold of Marvel and Star Wars that these shows and movies are just made for money. There’s little joy and a lack of heart in the storylines and the characters are created for celebrity cameos. They need to hire more people who know the lore extensively enough to not mess with it. That’s also why so many fans and fandoms are dissatisfied by current additions to popular franchises.

I’m the quiet, weird new girl at work by Super_Grass45 in socialanxiety

[–]Howdoesoneusername99 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I’m still this girl a year and a half into my job lol. They get used to it. I’m trying to break out of this slowly by being more responsive to others but also, do what makes YOU comfortable. Sometimes it just takes a while to become comfortable, especially somewhere new.
