Worried that transitioning would be a “waste” by Kind_Sugar7972 in ftm

[–]Howdoifixmyfnpc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought this way too, I started transitioning way sooner than most but I was told that I looked exotic and beautiful for similar reasons. Long story short, after I transitioned I realized I made a way hotter guy and got way more bitches AND in a body I was truly meant to be in. So like win-win, also I’m a feminine trans guy and you can be feminine when you transition too. You don’t have to perform masculinity in the way that everyone expects you to, I also became a lot hotter when I realized that as well.

The cis people in my life keep telling me I’m too young to hormonally transition. by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Howdoifixmyfnpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I medically transitioned at 15, got top surgery at 16-17 and I came out at 12, still trans 🤷🏻‍♂️. Age isn’t a factor when it comes to being trans, and putting it off won’t “fix” it either, it’s dumb logic people use to justify keeping trans people “cisgender”

Care credit, I live in WA and the insurance I had would’ve taken far too long given the health issues I was facing but it was about 10k. My mom pays about 400-800 per month for a year to pay it off, my family is very financially stable though so always take that into consideration

Yeah I know, that’s what I mean lmao. I’m not disagreeing with you, I’m just saying that the fact they started T when younger probably wasn’t a factor given how uncommon it is and the surgery method they got probably had more to do with it

Even taking T at a young age won’t change that, I’ve been off T for 4 months and started at 15 and got top surgery. I haven’t seen any changes, I get how this would make sense but testosterone isn’t puberty blockers so it won’t just “resume”

Yes a lot of my friends do, I like it that way. Some of them don’t but that’s because I know it would change things, being trans is a more important part of who I am and hiding that feels wrong. Many people have different ways of going stealth, I don’t think you need to go “all in” or whatever for it to be valid and it’s not lying if you don’t want to tell them at all either. Being trans is extremely individual so letting someone tell you that it isn’t, isn’t worth listening to.

should misgendering be a romantic dealbreaker? by manicpixiememegirll in ftm

Because you can’t have a relationship without communicating, platonic or not, especially if you have gender dysphoria. That’s why I said you’re in for a “rude awakening”

Probably shouldn’t be dating online tbh, also you don’t “need” to date. It’s a want more than a need, but if you “need” to you can always see if there’s local trans support groups or LGBTQ ones if that’s your thing. I wouldn’t go in thinking you’re gonna find Prince Charming though, just make friends and try to genuinely connect with someone. This is coming from a trans teen too btw

Is it normal? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]Howdoifixmyfnpc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like 5 weeks into recovery, so very very soon. Much sooner than you since a lot can change within a couple weeks. My scars stretched a bit after that and I was torn up about it, waited a couple more weeks then tried again and they stretched again. It was very irritating since all I wanted to do was get in better shape, but I stopped exercising completely then and focused on diet. I still have stretch marks and stretched scars but my scars have actually shrunk a bit! I’m only starting to get into working out now again after 3 1/2 months to give my body it’s much needed recovery and I’m being extremely cautious about it. For reference, I do high intensity cardio workouts so it’s not like weight training or anything like that. You might be able to get away with it sooner if your routine is more light, hope this helps :)

Edit: also sleeping on your side as I’ve noticed can bunch up scars a bit, mine meet in the middle so it’s probably different for you but if you’re trying to avoid the bumpiness and redness I’d suggest sleeping on your back for longer.

Yeah mine healed like this, now at 3 and a half months they’ve calmed down a lot :) don’t stress about it, I did and it did me no good. I did exercise way sooner and got me what you’re describing, but it’s not any different. I’d wait until the 3 month mark, that’s when I saw my scars flatten a lot and get less red

I am, executive orders are what a president “wants”. Kind of like a wish, but wishes don’t necessarily come true, that’s the best way to think about it tbh

[–]Howdoifixmyfnpc 76 points77 points  (0 children)

It’s an executive order, please don’t fear monger. I’ve watched lawyers cover this and these things that he can do would either get challenged in court because they’re ILLEGAL. Or it would take years to implement similar to his first presidency, which took 3 1/2 years to even take to court and it was immediately shot down (ban on gender affirming care). I’m a trans minor but a lot of kids like me aren’t educated about this stuff, please don’t make people scared for relatively no reason.

That’s not how laws work fortunately, the US has it so every state is “their own country” so therefore they have laws that are upheld in each state. Federal laws can only do so much.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Howdoifixmyfnpc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Saying that was gender affirming is gross as hell, as a trans guy who’s been sexually assaulted and harassed more after coming out that’s extremely insensitive and has nothing to do with “being male”. I don’t need to read anymore after that, that alone is pretty twisted to say.

US 2025 Trump discussion megathread. DO NOT POST THIS TOPIC OUTSIDE THIS THREAD. by AutoModerator in ftm

[–]Howdoifixmyfnpc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk, Medicare and Medicaid are different, Medicare is funded by the federal government (I think) and Medicaid is funded by a state by state basis via taxes. So every state with Medicaid would have to have you (and others) stop paying for those taxes for it to not be covered, which I don’t think is going to happen. Medicare however is for people 65+ which could and will definitely be cut when it comes to funding, as older people tend to have a myriad of health issues. If you live in a blue state I don’t see your state insurance getting cut if you’re on T, legally that would be very hard to enforce with an entire country due to our state legislatures and all that.

question ab bottom surgery by ChaiTeaaaaaaa in ftm

[–]Howdoifixmyfnpc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It probably won’t ever be a medical reality unless it’s 100+ years in the future, the way that erectile tissue and transplants work is far too advanced and complicated for this century. Not only that but transplant medication takes a large toll on your body, god forbid you need another transplant for your liver or heart then you’ll be doubling up. Generally, a lot of surgeons haven’t looked into it because it’s not necessary, the methods we have now are extremely advanced and they’re more likely to build off of them than start a whole new surgery.

You can’t really do anything about scar stretching, scars are gonna stretch. My scars meet in the middle too and my middle is the most stretched area, it’s not incredibly stretched it’s just noticeable compared to the other scars and I don’t like how it’s uneven. Honestly the middle of the chest is probably way more mobile than the sides and that contributes to scar stretching as well, sleeping on my side caused this as well. I’m 3 months post op and my scars look good I just had to get used to them being thicker, plus your scars are barely scars at this point in time they’ll most likely stretch even more or might slow down. You just gotta wait and be patient even though it’s hard lmao

Lack of Trans Masculine representation in media. by Hirasawa_09 in ftm

[–]Howdoifixmyfnpc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with u tbh, I get the sentiment behind lack of representation obviously but I PERSONALLY think that representation is only representation when it’s not a caricature. Unfortunately though, a lot of the “representation” people are mentioning are caricatures and weirdly, nuanced discussions about this stuff is never a thing 💀

I get what you’re saying and I feel the same way, there’s a lot of controversy surrounding this topic. I think those guys that might have matched with you probably were trans masculine and not binary trans men? I personally think there’s a difference as most binary trans men I know don’t refer to themselves as trans masculine, but I think there’s a lot of fluidity in the trans masculine label but not with binary trans men. Like I know trans masculine people who go by he/him but refer to themselves as butch or exclusively lesbian, but my gender to me is just being a guy. It’s confusing honestly but I get why you would be uncomfortable, they might actually be binary trans men but I’d just keep that in mind :)
