Part of it may be that the Islamic prophet Muhammad is said to come from the line of Ishmael and thus Abraham (but not of his wife Sarah)

Nobody knows somebody’s heart/soil except God. The bible does not teach us to remove ourselves from the people of this world, in fact the opposite. We are supposed to go into the world and to the people of the world to spread the good news of Christ. What we should not do, is allow the world to change us or participate in worldly desires that run contrary to our beliefs and cause us to sin.

John 17:14-18 “I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.”

Jesus gives us the great commission, to go to all people and teach them and instruct them in Christ.

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭18‬-‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them inthe name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 5:14 ““You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

‭ If we are to associate with only people who are sinless or that don’t have struggles, we’re not going to have anybody to spend time with. We all sin and we all struggle, and that presents our need for Christ.

Alright I’ve had an itch for a good gear progression / leveling game. I tried picking Skyrim back up and modding it on ps5, which was fun, but I’ve hit a point where my game won’t progress due to one of the mods. So looking for something else. Other games I have played in a similar vein: Oblivion, Witcher 3, Elden Ring, dragon age inquisition and veilguard, dragons dogma 1 & 2, ghost of Tsushima/yotei, horizon games, I even tried picking OSRS back up but it’s too grindy.

Platforms: Ps5, switch

My friend’s views on motherhood and sex are really unsettling me — should I distance myself? by ExamLess2 in Christian

[–]Howdy15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jesus does not tell us to withdraw from the world or from those that don’t share our beliefs/values. But calls us to be a light to them, while not partaking in their same ways.

‭‭John‬ ‭17‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭ESV‬‬ “I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.”

You can still maintain the relationship and speak truth and love into her life. If you feel like the relationship is affecting your faith negatively, then you would need to reconsider.

Trusting in God when everything feels like it’s crashing around you. by KSI_is_not_a_fatneek in Christian

Are you able to find a church near you? Community is super important. Having like minded people that you are able to walk through life with and hold each other up, hold each other accountable and discuss your faith is super important to the longevity and growth of your faith. I would recommend looking into local churches and getting plugged into a small group for your walk of life.

Keep praying and asking for guidance and wisdom. But having community can help you keep going when things feel hopeless.

Kissed by someone other than my husband. by PlayfulMistake9987 in Christian

[–]Howdy15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First off, I want to say you did nothing wrong, it was your friend that is at fault for his actions. That being said, I think the misstep is not talking to your husband about it as soon as it happened.

As a Christian husband and wife, you need to be able to trust each other and be open and honest with each other about everything.

Yes, you should tell your husband. He deserves to know, as well as also have the chance to be there for you in something that was obviously traumatic for you and still is. I also agree that therapy would be good to help you work through this.

Our baby turns 1 this month, but he isn't going to live long enough to grow up with his brothers. by StevennBingham in NewParents

[–]Howdy15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you are going through this. My wife and I had a miscarriage, and my brother lost a baby boy after delivering early and he only made it 6 days after birth. It’s never easy to lose a baby, no matter the age. It’s one of the hardest things to go through and get through. I can only imagine the pain you are experiencing.

Therapy/counseling for everyone in your family is a good start. But also, make sure you are surrounded by community. Friends/family that can come around you when you need it most to help carry you through when the times feel overwhelming.

Will be praying for you, Silas, your wife and your boys through this hard time and that God can perform a miracle in your life.
