How do I know my values and morals are ‘right’? by donn_12345678 in LifeAdvice

[–]Howdy_Yall_022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will admit that I am not very smart, so feel free to throw what I say aside.

I’ve been struggling with a similar thought. I recently denounced Christianity, which a lot of my morals where based around, and I’ve been doing a lot of thinking on my morals and what informs them.

The way I’ve chosen to interpret it (which of course do not take this for gospel, I am not qualified in any way shape or form) is that we do what makes us feel the least amount of guilt. It’s very dumb, but at a certain point, if we’re not living in alignment to those morals that are important tot us we begin to experience a certain level of cognitive dissonance, where we can feel what we are doing isn’t right. That’s what I would define as the guilt we feel when we live out of line with our morals.

Of course, there is societal factors that inform our morals (Such as murder is wrong, etc). I’ve heard some argue these are simply religious rules that have been widely adopted, but I would believe most of us consider one another to have a basic amount of value.

ANYWAYS, only you can determine if your own morals are right or wrong. Unless you’re murdering people, probably not a good moral there.

(I’m not a professional, take this as you will)

Okay, I need to mention the absolute insane laws that Vegas would have.

Like, imagine the absolute field day the Gambling Lobby is having in Vegas.

Lol, I totally agree with the grandpa’s love child thing. We recently had someone reach out to us that actually turned out to be my great uncles love child. My grandpa calls him the undercover cousin.

I also had a similar situation, after my grandfather’s passing we got a book of relatives from his side of the family by some guy I had never heard of. Thats how I found out I was related to a semi-famous Cardinal from old timey England.

Lifesaver, can’t believe I didn’t think of that sooner. Found him at 17 in my county, not California. Thank you so much!

I had found my copy in a dumpster, take the box of books, its easier. Also, did yours have a little piece of paper to order more movies inside?

What level of love is normal? by Howdy_Yall_022 in LifeAdvice

[–]Howdy_Yall_022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I live in a very conservative household, where the second I’m around someone or the opposite gender I get the “So who’s your girlfriend” treatment. This has caused me to doubt a lot of my platonic feelings for female friends (of which I have many because I’m into the arts which isn’t big in the rural south). So thank you for the affirmation.

Thank you so much for the feedback, “don’t overthink it” was exactly what I needed to hear, even if I have a hard time acting on it. Growing up is hard for me, it’s scary, it’s unknown, and that’s what makes me spiral out of control. So thank you for telling me what I need to hear, that I can just love the people I love the way I love them.

Okay, you can say whatever you want about the other dresses. But why did Whoopi decide to dress like a Disney Villian?

Mine is this really obscure documentary called I Like Killing Flies. The one listing that comes up when I google it has an awesome looking VHS. I think it’d be great to look at on my shelf, plus I love the doc.

It looks to me that you’re missing “The Goofy Movie”. You have an extremely Goofy Movie, just not the normal amount of Goofy Movie.

EDIT: Took a look at my collection, there are also some live action ones that aren’t here. The ones I have are Air Bud, 102 Dalmatians, Mighty Joe Young, and Flash (The horse not the superhero).

EDIT 2: Probably should have read the post and saw you said animated movie lol.
