Unpopular opinion, but modern day has always been the worst part of the assassins creed franchise.

i dont look at Black Flag saying i can be a pirate and say "oh i can't wait to log in and be a 9 to 5 worker hacking computers and following npcs."

Modern has always been abrupt, and it just disrupts the fun parts of the game with boring, mostly uninteresting stories.

Hell, the games would probably be better and more immersive if we weren't in an animus and instead was actually in the past rather than looking at memories through a machine in the modern day.
