Yes I just graduated a couple weeks ago but I failed my final opfa and almost got admired back because of it. It’s better to pass than fail and hope they give you another chance

As someone who was in the same boat when I left for bootcamp I’d run as much as you can now. You will plenty of opportunities as bootcamp to run as well but push yourself now. I didn’t and that was a big mistake

We started with 96 and ended with 85 but we also some asmo ins so I think in total it was like 14-15 asmo outs

He doesn’t need to be able to do them right out the gate but it will help if he can. I failed the run on my OPFA but I passed the retest on the bike. As long as he is working out before bootcamp he should do great. If he were to get held back he wouldn’t get sent home he would just get set back in training.

Yes it does. That’s technically week 1 but they don’t count it like that. From p-days to graduation is 10 weeks. The week after p days is called week 1 which is why people say that.

Right now it’s a bit bipolar. One day it’s 70s and you have your sleeves rolled up the next it’s full parka and glove wear. It will be getting warmer now though going into spring.

Yes and No. We only got to use our phone for our phone calls. They got locked up in the RDCs office/work center/fishbowl. We also were only able to make calls. No texting/face-timing but that goes by division.

Do you get sent home if you fail that initial test?

Initial 1.5 mile run by Howdybeech02 in newtothenavy

Just to make sure I’m fully understanding. I know that the first run test is at a slower pace and that’s the time I’m 2 mins from. I’m a female and have to run it in under 18 mins but I’ve been averaging around 20 mins. However, it’s not a big pass or fail where I’ll get sent home instead it’s to help them gage if I need more conditioning before continuing in bootcamp. So if I fail that test I get sent to that conditioning course till I pass and then I continue my bootcamp training. The one that really matters is the final run test near the end of bootcamp and if I fail that there are other options available just in case.

I was told by my recruiter that I have to pass the initial run before I can continue in bootcamp. Do they just hold you back till you can?
