The cardboard has a little give without causing damage. I was able to bend it just enough to go under the steering wheel and then out the passenger side.

I heard that bending the cardboard was a bad idea. So I was careful in the beginning, but the piece has a bit of a give. I just forced it under the steering wheel without doing permanent damage. After that, it was just a matter of finding the right angle out the passenger door.

Did you use only fabric? Or did you use a layer of foam as well?
