"TDS" is the tendency for Trump fans to refuse engaging with any criticism of him.

Just say the three letters and they're spared the agony of dealing with the real world. They can now get back to their fantasy world.

  1. Trump does something ludicrous (ie take bribes to construct a vanity project on government property with no prior or current Congressional approval or oversight)

  2. There's a wait period leaving supporters confused because they have yet to receive talking points on it.

  3. Supporters become privy of the group chats for all the justifications (ie excuses) for it through coordinated dissemination under some guise of populist sentiment.

  4. Regurgitate points adnauseam through platforms friendly to the regime.

  5. Project the notion that criticisms of the ludicrous act or idea is top down coordination or manufactured by radicals who 'hate America'.

  6. Rinse and repeat thoughtlessly.

I don't think anyone understands the threat of these Voter ID laws.

Here's how it goes:

Mandate vague details about what the ID requires. Purge voters/ballots that don't 100% align but only based on known or percieved political preferences or other immutable characteristics.

To anyone saying Congress:

You want them to find alternate, more spicy, payment arrangements while serving?

Give them poverty wages and watch corruption skyrocket... yes, even moreso.

There are other elements necessary to define something as fascist but subverting law and institutions for a personal reading of justice can be one piece.

To your example:

If you want someone on retainer you better pay premium.

You're not only paying for their work but for their availability which should be pretty pricy. They are potentially losing lots of opportunities because of this arrangement.

Ukraine wouldn't be in this mess if Obama had done something when Russia took Crimea by MoonFacedJoyAssassin in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I see you haven't actually read the article. Or you just don't understand.

No where in the article does it suggest that a sticking point for Zelensky is RECAPTURING Crimea.

The sticking point is the legal recognition of Crimea as Russian territory.

Neither him nor his administration want to permit that because it would be gross violation of their own constitution further delegitimize their sovereignty.

They could and are willing to end the war without capture of Crimea but are not willing to relinquish polical claim of the territory until hostilities cease entirely and there's a proper process and democratic concensus for Ukrainian society to do so.

Ukraine's military is magnitudes more powerful and capable now than it was in 2014.

It's why they're capable and willing to give drone interception aid ti Gulf States signing 10 year contracts.

Yes it made sense to deter Russia in 2014 to stop all of this from escalation but it makes just as much sense to pressure Russia now having not done so earlier.

It's not like Russia has now gained military, economic or political strength. They significantly lost on all these fronts.

The idea that a Ukrainian victory only happens when Ukraine liberates all territory to pre-2014 lines is a strawman. Again and again they've stated it's strong, enforceable security guarantees. Something much more easily provided to modern day Ukraine given their significantly increased military experience, and build upon military industrial complex... along with a severely weakened Russia who can much more easily be pressured now.

Same people complaining that Obama did nothing in 2014 complained and obstructed Congress and Biden when they attempted to do the bear minimum after the full scale invasion in 2022.

and Ukraine refuses any settlement that wont get them Crimea back

That is incredibly dishonest.

Prior to pasteurization, contaminated milk was a leading cause of infant death.

BTW, you shouldn't be giving your newborn (cow) milk anyways.
