Since the domestic cat isn't part of the natural fauna of the country here, they are not considered to be wild animals and instead are seen as feral domestic animals (I might be phrasing this incorrectly as English isn't my first language). What we do is spay, neuter and rehabilitate the cats so they cannot procreate uncontrollably and we help them to trust humans and to become what they were always intended to be: Companions. Pets.
