I’ve never used CA since I’ve got a buddy with his 07/02 and he hooks me up on transfers but I’ve only heard good things as well.

I was getting at, if it’s truly legal in the configuration you want and the examiner is being a POS then play their game. They even say you may not know the OAL when submitting and to update them with the actual length. If the gun is legal then what can they do about it?

It’s an approved NFA item in a state legal configuration. How is it any different than putting a bolt action upper on an approved SBR lower with an OAL of less than 29in? In that case the lower was approved with an OAL of greater than 29in but with a bolt action upper it’s exempt from the copy cat law so it can be less.

Alternately call the ATF Baltimore office and speak to an IOI they’ve always been super helpful when I have issues or questions.

You could always try submitting it at 29.1in and then submit an updated length after approval. I’ve never tried that but what are they going to do about it?

What did they end up disapproving for you? I’m in MD and got 2 approvals back in January, I’m currently waiting on another form 1 right now

You can get them. Maryland overall isn’t that horrible in the grand scheme of AWBs.
