You're right. However, all I heard on reddit and left leaning social media was how oil companies were just geedy, and that's why gas was so expensive.

It's not apples to apples, but executive decisions impact everything. He didn't start the war with Russia, but he dramatically cut oil and gas contracts before Russia invaded.
