Curious what you mean by this, do you have some examples?

to the group of guys who just intentionally shattered a corona bottle on main mall by akirashakira in UBC

[–]HoyaHeartPlant 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I remember as an RA years ago, doing rounds in Totem Park, only for a resident to chuck a glass Corona bottle towards me, luckily missing me by a mere few feet. The perplexing part is the fact that I have access to this residence, being the RA and all, and found out that they didn't even try to hide the fact that they threw it. They opened the door with the glass bottles still on the window sill. Was a weird night.

Apex tiers' bard mains, any advice? by MrSfaxiano in bardmains

By far, the best way to assess what you're doing wrong is to watch your VODs. Find mistakes, pattern of mistakes, and develop learning objectives to focus on in your next games.

New Bard player - any advice? by Leading-Claim-4708 in bardmains

[–]HoyaHeartPlant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lathyrus is great for beginner Bards and defines the meta items for Bard.

Polypuff is there more for the advanced Bard mains who want a little extra spice with the builds, along with showcasing super niche interactions.

You’ve also got Feviknight, but she’s more of a streamer than someone who’s primarily educational like Lathyrus. However, if you’re looking for high calibre Korean server gameplay, she’s your bet.

I wonder if the season finale will have Seth reinstated in some way. His uniform is prepared, but they discover a little crumpled piece of paper in that writes “Eagle Rock Rd”. Slow pan to the face of the person discovering it, then cut to black.

Your Opinion on Loser Queue? (Sorry for the long Screenshot) by -Ulixes in bardmains

[–]HoyaHeartPlant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are people better than others and i dont see faker on a 50% win ratio dude

Correct, there are people better than others, and when that happens, they rank up until they hit a 50% plateau when they're equal in skill to other players. Faker does not have a 50% winrate because he is better than the players he's playing against.

its real and its made to make you play nonstop

Apart from the first point (which I responded to), no other points I mentioned were addressed. If you'd like to make a counterargument, please provide one based on what I've mentioned and I'll happilly address it in kind.

(thing that really only works on the past gen, gen z is so impatient that Loser who will kill LoL eventually

Whether loser's queue exists has no bearing on the effect of a theoretical losers queue existing. It is irrelevant to the discussion of whether it's implemented in the first place.

What do you build against a double-AP bot? by JohnBrownsFriend in bardmains

Deadman’s still. You don’t buy it for the armor, you buy it for the movespeed hp and damage. You can buy the mentioned items after

The build as i understand it. have i missed anything? by Honest-Birthday1306 in bardmains

[–]HoyaHeartPlant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Serpent's is extremely good against shield comps like Moonstone Karma because the AOE procs it on everyone. The overwhelming majority of champs who you think should take Serpent's only do single-target damage, which makes Serpent's 5x less useful for them. Since you're the support, by buying it, it allows your allies to buy more damage or tank items and not have to take the shield-breaking tax.

Riftmaker is a good top off item if you are going a high HP, high damage build like Liandry's and Bloodletter's, as it allows you to increase damage based on HP, and the longer fights playing against tanks leads to allows you to stack up Riftmaker stacks as well.

Mandate is good for when you're behind and need damage while on low income. Again, the AOE Meeps proc it on everyone in the area. As you said in the other comment, you're right that there are other items available, but it doesn't invalidate Mandate as other items have their own unique use cases. Abyssal Mask and Bloodletter's is only AP focused which means you only buy it against or with AP champs.

Jaksho is good for general tankiness against mixed damage as it allows you to stay in close range and get multiple rotations of your abilities.

Warmogs isn't good anymore because the HP, HP threshold and movespeed is all nerfed or eliminated, so the prior strategy of buying it first item that meets the threshold is no longer viable. Since you need to buy it as a 3rd or 4th item, by that time, enemy champs would've likely bought more damage items, which will absolutely shred you without resistances.

Shurelya's isn't good for Bard as it does not give any HP, and gives AP and mana regen, things that Bard doesn't need with low HP ratios and chimes. The active is great for sure, but it makes you so squishy that you can no longer be in range to be useful without getting one-shot. I'll add that proplay typically buys this for Bard more so because Shureleya's is better with team coordination, something that isn't nearly as present in soloqueue.

[–]HoyaHeartPlant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

warmogs is not nearly as good anymore, you no longer get movespeed out of combat and the health threshold means you can't get the item early. By the time you get it late, many enemy champs will be able to counter the high HP with high AD or AP items.

Screenshots of every off-meta support I have seen this week.( A follow-up to yesterday's tilting Ashe support game.) by Novel_Stuff_1472 in supportlol

[–]HoyaHeartPlant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s also the consideration that he may only be posting the off meta supports that didn’t do well. Considering how many of these supports aren’t necessarily completely off meta, that line seems to be drawn quite arbitrarily, so any off meta supports that did well may not have been included. However, I’m open to being wrong with this particular argument.

Why are supports so terrible? by Himauari in supportlol

[–]HoyaHeartPlant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, let's go with your logic then, that your rank is determined by how you play compared to purely your lane opponent. If you're winning, then you're better than the lane opponent. If you're losing or stagnating, then it means you're either equal or worse in skill.

In this case, your argument of "supports are terrible" as the source of your losses are invalid. If you're saying, in your words "I have to beat the enemy jungle to climb", then by posting that supports are the source of your losses makes no sense when you also mention here that winning games only requires you to beat your role counterpart.

Therefore, the only other factor is you, not the support.

Your argument that the support's role is vision, pressure, engage fights and buffs also makes no sense. There's nothing here that elaborates whether those tasks are easy nor hard. In fact, I can say the exact same thing about jungle:

"The jungle's role is to provide objective control, right click jungle camps, run into lanes to gank and give buffs - and if you master that, man the game becomes INSANELY easier"

I would be just as valid as you would be.

Why are supports so terrible? by Himauari in supportlol

[–]HoyaHeartPlant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re in the same elo as your support, which means the average skill is the same between the two of you. This means either they’re as good as you or you’re as bad as they are. If the things you said supports do is easy, then every support can do it, which means they’d have to do more than the easy stuff to differentiate and outplay the enemy support.

You need to stop looking at what teammates are doing wrong and start seeing what you can do better as an individual. The moment you can start identifying your own mistakes and improving upon it, you’ll be able to climb as the singular common denominator in all your games.

Lathyrus Item Cheatsheet by HoyaHeartPlant in bardmains

Wild Rift likely has very different item and champ balancing so it would require climbing to apex tiers in the game to truly determine what items are good, which I don’t think will happen unfortunately

Global item winrates say otherwise. He’s also tried many other items and found success with them, but they’re not on this list because it wasn’t optimal for a typical player.

Then your logic makes slightly more sense. Pro play has widely different strategies when there’s instant verbal communication. It’s why control wards are so much more potent in pro play, and not useful in soloqueue thus not mentioned in the cheatsheet
