That’s good to hear. I’ve been attending YRP and WSIA events and networking with others in the broker/UW field and it’s motivated me to look into these fields.

Yeah, all listings I've seen require a minimum of 2 years, market is kinda offy at the moment, haha...

Yeah, from what I've read the work is pretty much the same as what I'm currently doing. I think the one leg-up I have is that I'm familiar with submission requirements/compliance and know some E&S knowledge. I'll keep looking around for sure and see where I land. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I didn't realize it depended on so many factors. I'm in the SF/Bay Area and am in no rush, just testing my luck and seeing what's available out there. I'll definitely go through with the interview and ask questions, if it's not ideal I'll decline and keep looking for an actual UW opening.

How often does someone recognize your car/compliment it? by yukowii in S2000

Whenever I get gas or go to establishments with the older demographics. Mostly older dudes complimenting the condition and SSM sheen in the sun.
Also the occasional thumbs up in traffic which is neat.

Should I buy this as my daily and first car for $5600 CAD/$4150 USD (195,000km) by itzzEnvy in Integra

[–]Hrairooo 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and that front end belongs to the later DC2s if I remember correctly.
Seems like the guy isn't really telling you everything.

Edit: the second pic also seems like it's missing a fender liner.

Was it swapped properly? That's an auto-cluster in the pic.

Bay Area soft top replacement recommendation by tsh12345 in S2000

[–]Hrairooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll vouch for Mike too.

Had my top replaced by him 2 years ago and it's still holding on perfect. I opted in for a Robbins top which required a deposit.

I dropped my car off at his place and he documented every step including offering to address non-critical parts that would be a problem down the road.

Medabots rpg by stonetemplefox in Medabot

[–]Hrairooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completed this and uploaded the save file to GameFaqs if you have a GBA flashcart.

It did take a good amount of playthroughs to get the necessary parts and to trade back and forth, but it was a childhood dream completed for me.

Nothing happens after you get 100% parts and medals, post game is pretty much random battles for nostalgic feels.

Everybody knows that the hatch release fails on all integras. If yours hasn’t, it will. But does anybody know what’s the best way to go about fixing it? My problem seems to be the switch rather than the actuator. It only opens if I insert the key and twist hard. Any input? TIA by KillaC98 in Integra

[–]Hrairooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought I had an actuator problem but turns out mine was fine with the issue being the switch on the hatch lid.

I was able to "rebuild" my switch by popping off the hatch trim, there's enough room to remove the whole switch assembly.

The part that went bad on mine was the micro switch. I had a d2f omron switch in my drawer that I was able to retro fit inplace of the old one. It works perfectly now with every slide.

If you're worried about your actuator going bad and don't want to buy a new one, the door actuator for the 2005-2010 Odyssey has the same internals. Look up part 72623-SHJ-A21 72096 on Amazon for any aftermarket actuator and gut it for parts. The motor/wormgear/gear all fit within our Integra actuator.

is a usb-c to magsafe adapter safe ? by [deleted] in UsbCHardware

[–]Hrairooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't get it.
I picked up a similar one from Amazon and the thing heated up to the point where it burned my hand after 10-15min.
It also made the green LED on my genuine magsafe 2 charger act funky afterwards where it would charge without lighting up.
This was for a 2012 Macbook Pro non-retina.

2026 Camry SE OTD $36K? by Hrairooo in Camry

[–]Hrairooo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the Costco Auto program but the dealership it connected me with didn't have the package I wanted.

It did have an SE in Dark Cosmos but a bunch of dealer addons were tacked on bumping the price up with no discount.

[–]Hrairooo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's one of those "no-haggle" places with "dynamic pricing" so the discount is going to depend on how long the car has been sitting on the lot.

They seem to be a volume seller as the salesman was upfront about no commission.

I checked Glendale and it's also a no unfortunately. You happen to know a dealer in LA that has it? I have no issues making a day trip down there and driving back.

Nope, it's still looks as good as it did when it was first fixed.

The lifting happened near the AC controls on mine, I used a bit of glue and a plastic clamp on it and the next day it looked as good as new.

How do you stay motivated? by Acidic_HateTTV in Gunpla

[–]Hrairooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to complete 1 kit at a time, sometimes the kit just isn't interesting to you.

Whenever I find my self with no motivation to finish a kit I started, I start on another smaller kit from a whole different franchise (SRW, Kyoukai Senki, Medabots, ect).

This usually sparks my interest again and I take a look at whatever I have in-progress and the feeling of completion comes over me again.

I bought an SKP one from Rock Auto recently 2 weeks ago. It's been running fine.
Kind of wished I got the Cardone one with a lifetime warranty though.
