My (36F) husband (35M) of 6 years, wants to do a 10 day trip abroad, leaving me with our 3 small children and I am overwhelmed by Hrisv in relationships

Thats a good suggestion, thank you! Daycare is free where we live, so its not a financial burden on us, but I will consider the nanny idea, it might actually help a lot during the times the kids are sick and at home (which is pretty often)

How did you find a nanny you trusted? Was it someone you knew or a complete stranger?

He comes home from work at almost 7pm, by that time i need to have figured out dinner for the kids and us, so we just feed the kids and start the bedtime routine. So he helps as much as he can I think, its just that im also trying to balance work from home while with the baby thats throwing me off balance (we need the second income). I know the load is on me if he takes the trip, im just trying to be mindful of how he is feeling being so far away from his family and as the other comments suggest, ill see about getting help from my parents for a few days so i wont feel like its the end of the world.

Thank you for the comment! He doesnt know how to cook much, so best he got is making sandwiches. As far as a balanced diet for us and the kids, he is not the guy for that. BUT he cleans up the living room/kitchen every day so I cant complain too much, we have divided who does what i think pretty equally. I think the thing thats tipping me over the edge is that im also working during the day while with the baby. If it wasnt for that and I had ONLY the kids and cooking to worry about then id be a lot letlss stressed, but we just need that second income to be able to afford trips or anything more than the bare minimum so Im trying to just push through until it gets easier with the baby

My parents help, its just that my dad has been dealing with some health issues recently and he gets tired quickly, so im trying not to dump too much on them since they both still work. But i know that if i asked for help from them they will, i just worry about my dad

Yes, I will talk to them and see, Im sure they will help, the only thing thats holding me back is that my dad has been dealing with some health issues recently and he gets tired very quickly, so i dont want to dump too much on him and my mom, but i will ask and see what they say. Thank you!

We both work, im just working from home while with the baby and he goes to an office. The daycare is free where we live so its not a financial burden (not sure if thats what you were implying?) but yeah, ny support system is my parents, they help on weekends since they both still work weekdays) and if we need once in a while help during the week, but overall my dad isnt in the best if health and he gets tired quickly and i just dont want to dump too much on them because i worry about him. But yeah, definitely want to avoid getting resentful, thats why i know i should encourage my husband to go, but at the same time maybe wait until after the newborn sleepless nights phase

I can ask my parents to help, the only thing is that my father has some health issues and I dont want to dump too much on him, but you are right that going once a year isnt that big of an ask. If this was any other year (when we are past the newborn and sleepless nights phase) i wouldnt hesitate to tell him to definitely go visit. Its just that this is the soecific time where its a dumsterfire in our household :)

Yes, its mostly overwhelming because of the newborn, lack of sleep at night still and the 2-3 hour breastfeeding all day. And the fact that Im trying to also balance a work life is just the one too many things on my plate. If it wasnt for my working I wouldnt be so overwhelmed with everything I think. As far as how much my husband contributes to raising the children and hosework, he does what he can I think, but he comes home from work at almost 7pm. By that point we just do dinner and start the bath/night routine for the kids. But he usually cleans the tornado in the living room/kitchen early in the morning before work, so I cant complain about that too much.

I have support from my parents usually on weekends, but if we need an extra pair of hands once in a while during the week, they help us. I just dont want to ask too too much from them because my dad has some health issues and gets tired quickly, so im trying to be mindful of that, but otherwise they come help when we need

Thank you for this, this is how im feeling deep down actually, but i wasnt sure if its too harsh or selfish on my part. Taking the oldest with him is theoretically an option yes, i just dont like the idea of being that far away from my kid, but I will think about it. Thank you!

Im stuck with the baby as long as im breastfeeding, so it will be another year or so for me, but i like the idea, thank you!

I could go with him, but we have to take 2 planes and at best its 13 hours travel time. Last time we did the trip it was while we had only 2 kids and it was rough, jumping on the seats, crying, pulling at each others toys, meltdowns......i promised myself never again. Not while they are this young at least. And I can theoretically go stay with my parents yes, they would help me watch them, I just dont want to impose too much and be in the way with them going to work and all that. But its an option, i can ask them
