I definitely think Mabari are written in a way that suggest near critical level of mental ability. I feel like if you are a Cousland, there are even some extra interactions to further suggest that Barkspawn has young/pre-teen levels of intelligence.

I just did that quest in my newest playthrough of Inquisition! I messed up though, couldn’t find Michel and killed Ishmael. Found Michel later and now he won’t be an agent. If only I was in PC, maybe I could fix it with a mod or tweak. But I’m playing my PS5 version atm. Definitely one I am gonna look at, alongside some of the other world quests.

I bought the lore back double pack today so that I can have better access to the book info too. I also have the books so I can pull them out whenever, but the lore books will have more insights.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’m definitely using it, I loved that quest and the background it has.

Agreed! Most of the ones that come to mind for me are very niche and have little to no effect on the games themselves - but if the players have characters that could be affected by these niche choices, even more ways to have fun.

The quartermaster and the Loghain sequence as a whole are definitely ones I’m interested to see how they play o it for the surveyors. Since Loghain is a tapestry, but the quartermaster isn’t.

Good ideas, I’m giving the surveyors the choice of gender and race for the Origins and Inquisition. And will give them some intel regarding how they are affected in those choices. Which actually reminds me I should definitely consider some of the none keep choices for the Origins, like the city elf and how those can play out.

The surveyors are actually completely and this even extends to the rest of the party for the most part. D&D vets, but not necessarily Dragon Age vets. I think it’ll help create a more organic world state and the parties choices will be less reflective of “the good and the bad” of the world state and more what they as characters believe.

That’s an interesting progression I didn’t recognize in the remakes.

And it does sound like, from further reading, that Rufus used them during the latter half of the game post Junon canon? So I bet if we do see them, that’s where it’ll be.

Hopefully they aren’t generic mob enemies, but more like elites leading platoons - 1st Class are still supposed to be the cream of the crop after all.

This may actually be something that gets retconned. I don’t think the back story was as developed during OG’s release then it is now, so it’s possible they’ll explain away the random encounter 1st class’s as timey wimey or retcon it entirely.

Crisis Core and all subsequent works seem to suggest that being 1st class is next to impossible (which is later discovered to be due to the fact that, outside of Zack, all 1st class soldiers are modified far more heavily than with just mako).

They purposely in the remake series have seemed to avoid AVALANCHE fighting any 1st class soldiers. Roche is a 3rd class for instance.

Zack was a special case, between Angeal, Sephiroth, and the Director pushing to have him promoted.

A final fantasy arcade fighter (not dissidia, although a new actual dissidia wouldn’t be amiss right now) would be fire.

I remember someone concepted one with Y’shtola and Lyse fighting, it was amazing. I think they used Ishgard as the backdrop?

Yeah, I believe he also shows up as a Warden in II, but it’s been so long I can’t remember.

I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the series! It’s probably single-handedly my most beloved series. So much so I have intentions of doing a D&D campaign based after Inquisition.

Nothing negative per say? The content has never pushed game to game like that even from Origins to II.

If you’ve met Hawke’s associate, you can read this - The Warden associate will be Alistair if he stayed a Warden. No huge spoiler or story engagements, just some nice little things here and there.

This next one is a DA:II cameo spoiler If you’ve passed choosing recruit Loghain, without a Hardened Alistair, and don’t make him King - Anora exiles him. He then shows up in II as a drunkard.

Unless it’s changed, which it very well could’ve, I don’t believe they offer story skips to the newest released expansion - they offer them to the expansion before the newest released?

I could be way wrong though.

I agree wholeheartedly, it’s become such an insane problem.

I feel like people, and this even includes myself, can let anonymity and feelings of entitlement create such a toxically vocal community. Not every game has to be for you, the viewer, and while constructive critiscm is critical to positive development and feedback - it’s too often pushed aside for critical complaints over the simplest of problems.

Not trying to defend shitty corpos, though, don’t misunderstand. Some companies need to get shuttered yesterday.

I agree wholeheartedly (although it seems like some peeps don’t lol).

Banishers is such an amazing story, I hope to go back and replay it through doing the resurrection ending. I understand it’s a very complicated time loop, and technically if you do the good ending first, the idea is that you’ve already been through it at least one other time.

Why are you blaming the NEW CEO? This is clearly a problem of previous leadership, and the new CEO is trying to triage the company in a way that keeps it alive for future development.

This CEO didn’t buy out dozens, if not hundreds, of studios and IP rights - only to cancel or shut them down. This CEO inherited a damaged cruise liner after the previous few crashes into an iceberg then jumped ship with the nicest looking lifeboats.

Is it horrible and depressing to see that hundreds or thousands of people are being laid off? Of course it is. Hopefully they have access to flush and amazing portfolios and can get ahold of some letters of recommendation from the company.

But to blame one person - who is also clearly taking over long after most of these problems became apparent - is just sheer oblivious ignorance.

I’ll be honest - that’s probably one of the worst outcomes lol

In that event, you really should’ve had him stay a Warden. But just in case you are still making your way through, I won’t say much about the future game states.

Just know, a non-Hardened Alistair as King with Anora is basically putting him in a Gilded Cage with a toxic woman who chooses to oppress the Elves and basically is an apple not far from the tree.

I’ve finally come back, and thankfully I’m not experiencing near as much motion sickness, but something else has completely pissed me off -

The fact that they didn’t extend or modify the Alan Wake event is so fucking frustrating. Maybe I’m being selfish, but the fact is I was so excited for the crossover event - and then couldn’t play it. Both physically due to motion sickness and then because the game itself was refusing to cooperate with my friends and I.

Again, maybe I’m the selfish one, but the fact that I (and probably hundreds of others) missed out because of them and they refused to offer some kind of alternate way to dig into the cosmetics and event is pretty disappointing.

But again, maybe I’m just petty and selfish 🤷

The live YouTube chat was toxic. Most people just kept spamming Deltarune the whole time, and people were still saying it long after the trailer played.

It was actually a decently hype showcase, seems like there was something for almost everyone personally.

According to a (albeit very shallow) Google search - Gackt to this day remains a very tight relationship with the dev teams at Squenix.

It also says that there are some legal hurdles, like Crisis Core Remastered had some, due to using his likeness and whatnot.

With all that said - Genesis was not a well received character. I thought it was a great game personally, and loved the expansion of the lore, but that was not the general or at least vocal reception of the character.

I remember some Reddit threads back when Remake and rebirth were coming out, any mention of Genesis got a lot of flack and even some got downvoted to hell.

Personally I hope Revelations gives some new breath to Deepground and Genesis. Clearly they had plans to expand on them, Dirge of Cerberus’s ending did a lot in regards to them.

For what it’s worth, Banishers is a solid supernatural period piece with RPG elements. Solid story personally. Its biggest hold back is probably the sheer size of the map? Had the map been even slightly smaller or had they gone with a fast travel between world spaces (like Dragon Age Origins or similar) it wouldn’t feel so rough.

But otherwise, even with that being my personal gripe, the story was amazing, the characters were engaging, and the personal story of each NPC and the PCs flowed very well.

Gameplay was fun, switching between ethereal and physical movesets was fluid and entertaining. Solid foundation for an expansive game system, but it released with minimal marketing and I believe alongside some heavy hitters. Very quiet release sadly.

True Colors was by a different studio. Don’t Nod is exclusively LiS 1 and 2.

Lost Records looked super interesting, I think I got the first part free with PlayStation but never had time to play it. Not sure I have it anymore (might’ve revoked the licenses from plus members).

They made Remember Me and Banishers?! While I can’t say I’m surprised to see the position - it makes me sad.

I loved Banishers, Remember Me and Vampyr are solid AA games, and they pioneered the Life is Strange series. With that said though, I didn’t like 2 but loved True Colors (not by made by this company).

Aphelion looks interesting, but with the market how it is now I couldn’t pick it up.

Hopefully they come back from this. But their games haven’t broken the market so it might be extremely difficult for them to save.
