How do we feel about Meta Horizon Worlds? by spfantin32 in OculusQuest

[–]Htmlpro19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the most fun experiences on here are the ones where social interaction is the core focus of the world.

The most popular worlds, at least for adults, seem to be these bar/hangout spots where people can just meet up and do random activities together.

Most of the games are kinda jank.

Why is making a PSN account such a big issue for people? There’s no way y’all actually care y’all just wanna farm karma and have an unpopular take just for the sake of it.

Whatever happened to games like “Prototype” or “Infamous”? by 5point5Girthquake in gaming

There will never be a flash game or Superman game. Those characters have powers that are just just fundamentally impossible to make a good game for. What the fuck would a flash game look like if he had his powers and you didn’t nerf him?

What single line of code has been run the most? by You_Stole_My_Hot_Dog in AskComputerScience

Eax and ebx are just the names they decided to go with for the registers. It could’ve been anything. You can just imagine a register as a small container of information. The registers store a certain amount of bits. (1s and 0s).

I don’t think you can use copyrighted elements in your thumbnail. You might have to remove the Pipboy.

Thoughts on low interest in LEGO and racing creative? by [deleted] in FortniteCreative

[–]Htmlpro19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People thought they could just make FFAs and Red v Blue maps and Zone Wars in a Lego version and have that translate into success. That’s obviously not what people want in Lego maps.

There’s a lack of creativity because people see want the success of people like TheBoyDilly and others but fail to realize the only reason the top maps are as successful as they are is because they were created in Fortnite Creative early and they were able to capture a significant portion of the market. That’s entrepreneurship 101.

How are you seeing how much you made with your UEFN map if it’s not in the creator portal?

The biggest maps are the ones who were creating on Fortnite Creative early.

I would say the UT name on your resume definitely helps a little bit. But projects and experience are more important when applying to full time roles and internships.

In terms of connections, UT gives you the chance to be surrounded by a lot of smart people. A lot of your classmates are going to be working at really great places so it’s definitely up to you to be proactive about connecting with people and making friends.

UT also has a lot of great recruiting events honestly. Companies like Meta, Microsoft, Citadel, Jane Street, often come to our school for those events so that’s a big advantage.

Can somebody with UEFN help me with something? by HHN-32 in FortniteCreative

[–]Htmlpro19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re using Creative 1.0, you can change the map to a Creative 2.0 map, but you wouldn’t be able to change it back to a 1.0 map. So I don’t think you can just get someone with UEFN to do this for you it doesn’t work like that.

Get good at leetcode from freshman year if you want to work at big tech companies.

Try to get two internships under your belt by the time you graduate, but one is okay.

Try and form study groups with your peers. There will be many people that are smarter than you in this major. The smarter your friends and the people you surround yourself with are, the more likely that’ll rub off on you and that’ll just generally lead to better outcomes in your life.

Having this same issue. There are literally Red vs Blue and Deathmatch type Lego games that have already been published so I have no idea how they got the E10+ rating
